I Texas rigged for the first time this year and liked it for the most part. I had a problem getting them into the decoy bag for transporting once the were picked up. Otherwise they banged around in the bottom of the boat, making a mess, getting stepped on, chipping or denting.

Anyway, I ran across this tonight and I thought I'd share because I'd never seen a bag designed for the Texas rig.

I may cut a hole or two in my current back (bottom, upside-down) to try it out before I spend $50/ea on these bags. Why didn't I think of this sooner?

I like the idea, but it seems pretty limiting on the number of decoys you can carry.

Texas rigged decoys are kinda difficult to go through the bag process. My buddy has what you have shown in the video and although it works, it kinda takes the simplicity out of the Texas rigging system in the first place.

I bought a floating plastic sled and just throw them in there when I can't just hang them.

I think Texas rigging is ideal for people hunting ricefields or small holes where they ride in on rangers or four wheelers. That way they can just hang off the vehicle. I don't think I would bag any to transport at all instead just stretch them out on the bottom of a boat.

Yea it's kind of hard to bag em. If you don't put too many per clip you cram squeeze em into a mesh bag but otherwise tie em and carry em over your shoulder

On my nicer decoys I have them Texas rigged in 12 and 6 slot bags

We use these bags. You can hold a little over 2 dozen per bag and it keeps them out of the way. The big opening on the bag really helps in getting the decoys in.

Those big laundry type bags work, you can clip the carabiner onto the top edge too.

If you only put 6 decoys on a string it works well.

I've never bagged them

Just put them on a carabiner in the bottom of the boat and them hung them up for storage

I kinda need to bag em. Small boat and unload dekes to suburban each hunt. I think I'm gonna try cutting current bag and putting fewer on each carabiner first. Then maybe a stand up bag

For all the talk of drowning in waders....

A relative of mine drowned years ago - had a boat with decoys everywhere boat capsized - got tangled up in dekes...

We converted to stand up bags to get the clutter out of the boat. That and we kept getting caught up in the cords. Had a guy catch a cord, while trying to move to the front of the boat, and take a header into the creek. We bagged ever since.

This is part of what I'm trying to avoid too

Need to get some of those for next season. The laundry bag ones just dont work very well with Texas rigged decoys. Tired of fighting with them.

This is why we went to stand up bags. Three of us hunt together normally so we each bought one bag to help offset costs. It has made a world of difference. I have seen a couple of guys convert an old hoop net style fish holder into a big arse decoy bag. They stuffed about 4 dozen in each bag.

I shoot ducks on the water so I usually only have three or four decoys left at the end of the year.

This sort of simplifies a lot of things.

These guys have it right...stand up hoop net bag is what we went to. much easier and keeps the bottom of the boat clean. I tried cutting a hole in the bottom of my regular bag first...didn't work all that well. My next step is to put dividers in the stand up bag. I usually toss 2 dozen dekes, so having 4 separate compartments in the bag would eliminate any tangle as I pull out and throw 6 at a time.

I use the larger version of this bag for my duck dekes, can fit 35-40 in there and still close it. Rides in front of my boat, under my pirogues.
