man with what the rules state I've been risking this one. link to regs
I have been hunting Tensas since around 2007. I have been stopped a handful of times by Game Wardens. They always ask for my license and lottery paperwork if applicable. They have never searched my bag or even asked if I had anything illegal.
I have heard stories of both happening but never seen it myself. You are probably ok with a screw in bowholder or accessory hook but I just wanted to let the guy know.

IF you are willing to walk further than anyone else, get further all trail than anyone else and scout for trails you will do ok. If you dont do that you will meet lots and lots of people.

Same here, every one I know says that the warden will search and you can't use them. I've never been searched and don't interpret that to exclude bow hangers. To be safe I've been looking for a good strap on hanger. I had an old baw tell me that I had to have my bow in a case on my fourwheeler or boat. Another guy told me I couldn't be carrying a sidearm unless I was a veteran, active duty, or post cert police. IDK where folks come up with some stuff.

I have been using THIS ONEfor a couple of years.
I recently bought an HYS Strap to try out because it clips directly to itself without having to thread the strap through the buckle every time. I haven't used it yet.
This is how I hook my bow now... I think I can hook my arrow web bracket right onto the loops in the HYS strap.

Know and follow all rules and regulations. Those federal wardens usually pose and dress as hunters to help nab any hunters not abiding by the rules. Thay only show their badge if and when warranted.

I would agree with the sentiments laid out in the previous posts. Do your best to get away from the crowds and find thick nasty habitat.
I have been checked numerous times by state wardens and only once by a federal warden. The federal wardens will check everything in your backpack and in our case the boat looking for prohibited items. Warden was polite and the whole interaction took less than 10 minutes for my dad and I.
Good luck to you and the rest of the orange army.

If you see a log across the river, hunt that spot. The deer will use it to cross.

Yeah, and if you kill a hog in there, be sure to jerk it off to make the meat good.
Also, be sure to have a screw in hanger, reflective stickers, flagging, a small limb saw, and toilet paper on you. Then be sure to come out 2 hours after sunset using your headlight on your atv. Then as feds are cuffing you tell them you saw a mountain lion to top it all off. Those cuffs will go on so tight your hands will fall off like a banded calf's nuts.
Enjoy
