I'll just say the $500 I spent in that 14 Chevy with 40 k was $500 more than I spent on repairs on two Honda trucks I've owned previously. 180k in one and 160K in another one. My stepson is still driving the last one I had, well over 200k and has replaced struts , I think. My son drove the first one to about 300 k with only negligible repairs.
My new Honda truck is tough as nails and I can be confident I won't have a bunch of bullshite repairs like the many mentioned previously.
Most of the guys I work with run the Z s they buy for about 50-60 K and trade because they know what's coming if it hasn't arrived yet.
No need to be insulting.

It's pretty well known that Chevy/ GMC trucks have the most small issues. The Chevy 5.3 drivetrain is one of the best though. You basically get what you pay for there, the tundra is most expensive but fewest isssues. The f150 is in the middle, and the Chevy cheapest with most small issues.

I'm sure theyre very nice. they even have a trunk in the bed for your groceries. probably doesn't even strain with that massive 250 hp V6 they put. im sure you can get in touch with Delta performance or some of the gator tail guys to get extra performance out of that engine

I knew when I posted the Honda thing it would almost be a thread hijack.
LOL
All I can say is those trucks have been exactly what I need. Plenty of power,, great gas mileage which is important as I put about 35k miles plus a year in my trucks. I can take it most places I need to go in my work and it pulls my ATV just fine at interstate speeds.
Still better than a POS that starts having problems when the warranty goes out and gets 16-17 mpg.
Hate on, guys!
Y'all ain't hurtin my feelings.
OG, meet me at Rayville Sonic!!
Ya ole fart. LOL

That's all fine, and I'm sure it's good at whatever it is it does, but it's not a truck, and doesn't really fit into this discussion.

Speaking of buttphuque, that's what Obama and Chevy did to all purchasers. Pay us to help build your truck,,, now pay us again to buy that same truck..

Hmm, looks like, feels like, works like any truck I've ever had, towing package for what I tow and does that well and with the added benefit of being way more reliable than the truck in the OP and damn sure less expensive to run.
Call it what you want, I'm happy.
I also said I knew it would hijack part of the thread, so the bait works.....

Some have more problems than others I suppose, just like anything.
My Dad had a '99 and had 140K on it, no major problems/repairs in 17 years when he traded it for his new F-150 last year.
On the other hand, a buddy of mine just bought a 2017 silverado, has driven it 2000 miles, and its leaking oil and back at the dealership for repair. Rotten luck.

My dad had an '01 Avalanche, one of the first in the entire state, and drove it for 150k miles. Didn't have a single issue with it the entire time he drove it, even still had the factory brake pads on it. He still says it's the best truck he's ever owned.
After they moved to the DOD fuel saving crap it added an extra layer of complexity that these engines didn't need. But California emissions and café standards and trees and unicorns...

yea i couldnt disagree with this comment enough. I currently drive an '05 with the 5.3 (189K miles) that still pulls an 18' gooseneck with 4 head of cattle just fine.
ive also pulled 36,000 lb of sheet pilings with a 1 ton duramax. wasnt smart, but engine power was the least of my problems.
chevy may have issues, but engine performance is the very least.
