You saw this?
Yes. Yes I did.
Hit just below his hairline behind his head and traveled under the skin to the top of his head. Woke up with a headache and went to the ER. Seen a lot of bullet wounds. Very few look like or act like you would expect them to. Haven't seen many .45's come in, most of them go to another place apparently.

Thats fine, then let me throw a round of each at you in a dark hallway, see how you can take it.

I love when someone enters a discussion with a twisted view of what is actually being said.
The point I was making was, and I quote "While depth of penetration may be a semi vlaid point for a bladed weapon, I'm not certain it should be conisdered in isoloation as a qualifing factor for defensive round."
If you fail to see that there are MANY more factors other than simple depth of penetration that make particular weapon/round lethal I feel sorry for you.
Never once did I say or imply anything about biased FBI gelatin tests.

Now the FBI gelatin test are biased and irrelevant because someone can die from a baseball

I saw a ganbanger on successive nights in the ER with a headache. The first night he and about 20 others were in there with a multitude of injuries form a big fight.
the second night it was just him since his headache would not go away .
He had a 22 lodged under his scalp that had entered just above his forehead in the hairline.

Fine, but don't suggest one to someone who is looking for a self defense handgun. They may believe you know what you're talking about.
Why the dickness? Just nature?

I don't want to be in a dark hall with a hammer being thrown at me, much less anything out of a firearm. At the same time I don't want to be in a dark hall with an intruder while slinging a hammer, rabid weenie dogs, .22 rat shot, or 410 shot shells.

How many threads do we need about this pistol/wanna be weak shotgun?

Seem to have one once a week.
Honestly, I think the gun is a great novelty. I also think it's a great testament to advertising. It has very nearly turned an entire generation "judge fanatics" while doing nothing more then marketing the weapon well. Ot really is phenomenal that they took two rounds that were virtually dead and turned them into a block buster. It just astounds me that people are acually buying these snake guns for self defense.

100% agree Infidel.
If anyone has one of these, please load it up with .45LC
How can anyone read the results at Box O' Truth and not understand that the .410 is NOT a reliable man stopper?
I understand shooting into water jugs is not the greatest ballistics test out there, but with the pitiful amount of penetration the .410 shells have, anyone would be a fool to think they would be effective against a jacked up meth head intent on doing them bodily harm.
You folks have to realize, at the point you pull a gun out and point it at another human being, then you have made your decision...the decision to possibly take their life.
At that point they will react. They may run away, or they may stay and fight with intent to take your life. Do you want to "hope" that your .410 shotshell is enough to stop a person intent on killing you or KNOW that the gun you pointed at him will do the job when your life is on the line?
My point is, get a gun that is a known, effective man stopper. Take said gun and go practice with it, get comfortable with it, and be able to place shots in a kill zone from 10-20 feet.
A .410 whether it is a shotshell, slug, pistol or long gun is NOT that gun.
While others may wonder if their .410 is enough, I will be sleeping comfortably tonight knowing my 12 Gauge and my .45 are both more than enough to get the job done in one shot. ;)

Unless you've fired the Judge and actually seen it's results first hand STFU. If this gun was pointed at you from within 10ft( in which most confrontations occur) you'd piss your pants. If you hit your target with the 45 there is no need for a "follow up round" this is an excellent gun for lots of reasons. For instance, to keep in your truck. Carjacker?? No problem, I don't give a shite if you have the 410 or .45 in the revolver it WILL stop your target from that range. You wanna volunteer to take a 410 buckshot round in the face??? No?? I didn't think so. Oh, and one more important thing, it's a revolver, it will go "bang" when you pull the trigger.

Seriously, you have no idea what you are talking about. This isn't Call of Duty.
I suggest you google/read up on penetration of rounds by police officers. Massad Ayoob is a good place to start.
NO ROUND will 100% positively stop a human target and just because it is revolver DOES NOT mean it will fire every time or at all.

The title of my thread was regarding the "New Judge",the composite one.
I think I even included a pic of it in the OP.
These other posters have turned it into a pissing match, not me.

lol! This is still going on?? Every week someone starts a thread asking for advice on this "gun" and every week a large group of people lay out the reasons why it is not a good choice for home defense. I guess some (since they're the same posters everytime) will never learn.
I have fired one... At a snake and it did it's job. I doubt I would piss my pants, I'd hope the .410 birdshot didn't sting too bad. So you're saying that an untrained person in a dark house is going to hit the perp with that .45lc everytime and there is no need for a follow up shot? Why are we shooting .45lc's out of it if the .410 is the best defensive round in the world anyway? Man now we're recommenting that big clunky thing as a truck gun...geeez.
and please stop asking if the Judge haters "would like to take a ___ round to the face?" STFU no one wants to volunteer to take any kind of bullet to the face. idiots...

I wouldn't want it for defense, but damn they are fun to shoot. You can fill a cabela's bag up with 20 different kinds of ammo and shoot em all out of the same gun. They're not as stupidly huge as they seem either. My buddy has one with a 6" barrel, and it's a little shorter than my 6&somekindafraction" 357 blackhawk.
As far as it's effectiveness as a personal defense weapon, A 45lc will far outdo a 45apc with proper loads.

45 LC vs 45 acp is not a comparison I am familiar with. Probably b/c the LC is a antiquated round that all but died out a long time ago. Never looked at the numbers, for obvious reasons, so I can't argue the point. Have you ever wondered why there very few other weapons out there chambered for the round (LC) and none of those are marketed for self defense? Hummmmmm..........
