Have been dragging my feet for some time on getting a suppressor(s) but will sometime this year.

With removal of the stamp cost (obviously still have paperwork to file), does it change your thoughts on putting suppressor in a trust? Since you can transfer to someone else now without a fee. Have heard in past that wait time is much shorter for person getting stamp vs trust getting stamp (see note below)

Have there been a prediction thread on what happens to suppressor cost with removal of stamp cost? I have seen people talk about a new wait b/c people delayed buying to 2026, but I assume that works out in a few months.

Please retitle for a yearly running thread for all things suppressors 2026. This might help to have everything in one consolidated place instead of daily new threads.

A trust just allows more people to use the NFA item (members of the trust). The $200 tax was never really the reason I got the trust. It was more of a protection for my family in case something were to happen to me.

I have my suppressors in a trust with my wife and sons. Cost for the trust was $300 in Baton Rouge. I picked up three suppressors last year and had the stamps on all three (purchased each at different times) within 72 hrs of submitting the paperwork. Simple, easy and fast.

Cost varies wildly depending on who does it.

I dont think e file approvals will be significantly affected once the initial rush clears. As long as you get a computer approval, which is what is happening when people get these super fast approvals, itll still be quick.

HOPEFULLY this is step one to them becoming totally deregulated in the near future but we'll see. Theres absolutely no reason for supressors or SBRs to be regulated like they are.

Could you imagine walking into your local gun shop and walking out with your can like buying a box of ammo.

If you already have a trust set up for property, can you just add the suppressors like we added the last vehicle we bought?

I won't buy a suppressor until it is this way. I can buy a muzzle brake, triggers, barrels, optics, bolts and magazines but I can't buy a can. It's all BS.

Here is what I understood the details to be. I am looking to buy my first suppressor and went to multiple shops last week. Granted they do have other ways to do it but this seems the easiest. You go to store XYZ to buy the suppressor. They have a kiosk in the store for Silencer Shop. You go to the kiosk and complete the process. It takes about 20-30 minutes. It cost roughly $25. They suggested only putting myself in the trust at that time so it would not take as long. You can add people to the trust later by doing paperwork. Not sure if adding the people to the trust costs money.
