As someone who designs boats for a living. I disagree with this statement.

3M 6382 (1/2") or 6383 (7/8") will hold it just fine. If it can hold body side moldings on vehicles at 70 mph, it can handle the boat.

Please tell me how the side of a car comes into contact with water at 70mph. Ill hang up and listen

The same way the part that this guy is taping down won’t come in contact with water. It’s a seat, not a transducer or something

Don't get crazy with it. 5200 takes a longgggggg time to fully cure in this weather. When its really hot and really humid outside it cures much faster. It loves water.

Its really intended for things like gluing hull structure together. Its horribly overkill for most applications which is why I like it. In reality, 4200 is much more useful to have around. Cures faster and can be pulled apart with kinda significant effort. 5200 aint letting go. You're pulling whatever its stuck to off.

Eh, with a heat gun and patience 5200 isn’t too terrible to get off.

But I agree that 4200 is better to use unless you’re literally holding the boat together. I use 4200 on everything from livewell fittings to thru hulls

Well in three or four years, when this plastic trim cracks and needs to be replaced, im probably going to redo all the shite. Im a big fan of overkill lol

Just put one of the back bench trims on. Tomorrow at lunch ill put the final one on.
