Yea its a little awkward. It doesn't balance as well as I'd like and it's pretty heavy for the power, but it does a great job of soaking up vibration. I don't think it'll be too bad.

Now that bad boy with a dull chain would be a farrrrrr different story. It'd probably make you hate your life pretty quickly.

Have this mofo with a 20" blade and its a badass, my pops has the bigger one, both came in real handy after Katrina. Has the power and durability of the stihls but a little lighter imho.

It's actually nice to look it. I think I might actually clean this one after I use it. My poor ms170 still has shite on it from the first time I used it. Damn thing has been drowned in a canal and all kinds of shite.

Hopefully this one gets a little better treatment.

I can't wait to cut something though.

I have a husky as well an older 455 and its a good saw, I have never had an issue with it and its easy to crank.

The issue I have with today's husky is they are not the old husky quality.

Are you using it for commercial or just on your drunken wood splitting outings?

We cut damn near from sun up to sun down and at night in the beginning for 27 straight days, cant tell you how many chains and blades we went though, the mfers did nothing but sling chips.

And correction, its a 22" blade. Dad has the big boy.

I've run a few pro grade huskys and liked them. I just know a guy who sells stihl.

the huskys just don't have the ergonomics of the stihls IMO, and that's probably mostly due to my familiarity with stihls.

I think both companies make good saws. But I will say if I was going to buy a saw tomorrow I would be leaning more toward a Stihl.

But my 455 with run with any saw in that class hopefully it's lasts a good while longer

Yea they're both good. People tend to like what they own and that's fine.

My buddy did buy one of the home depot huskies though, and holy shite that was a mistake. It was a hunk of shite compared to the others I've fooled with.

He would have been better off with a pooland.

Husky and Poulands and owned by the same company now. That's why I would put stihl ahead of the huskys currently on the market.

His chain tensioner broke the first time it slung a chain. The way the tensioner is made on the cheap ones is complete chicken shite. I was pissed when I saw how that thing was made. No way that saw should have the same name on it as the pro-grade huskies.

I want to say 2006-7, both companies are owned by Electrolux. They say the HD and Lowes saws are not the same grade saws.. Kind of like the john Deere line at the big box stores.

They say the 100 series husks are just rebadged Poulans and most of the saws now saw made in USA versus Sweden.

I have burned up 2 Poulan Wild Thang saws within the first 5 hours of using them

Never burnt up a Stihl, except for the farm boss you get at HD.

My thing with Huskies is that they don't make the torque that Stihl does. I like digging the dogs in and just turning it when the chain gets dull. Huskies just bog down

Also, how many Husqvarna saws do you see that are >10yrs old still running? I have seen dozens of Stihl saws 20+yrs old still running like a top

I know of 3 stihls older than me that have never missed a beat. (I'm 22)

I think huskies run at higher rpms, which can lead to frick ups.

If I was spendin the coin, I'd go stihl and it wouldn't be close.
