Just another reason to wear Mossy Oak. Don’t hear this controversy from the Haas boys
First off…what controversy? Appears Jordan killed a buck off his Louisiana lease.
Secondly, you’re fooling yourself if you don’t believe that anytime the Mossy Oak boys travel to hunt, they’re not sitting in stands hung by others, shooting deer grown by others.
Nature of the beast.

Moving some DNA around?
I swear, deer farmers have absolutely cluttered the brains of some folks.
So under your assumption of “moving some DNA around”, someone darted that free range (no fence) buck in Georgia, took semen samples, then traveled with said samples to Louisiana, where another free ranging deer, a doe in this case was also darted and artificially inseminated with sperm from darted Georgia buck.
Holy smokes, Batman.

I can give you anywhere between 50,000 and 100,000 reasons why your statement is incorrect.

Follow up: if this deer is “Stomper Jr.”, where’s by god ol “Stomper Sr.” at?

Great buck.
Lots of crying and jealousy in this thread.

Tyler/Realtree booked a hunt and I'm sure paid a big price. Honeybrake has a waitlist for booking deer hunts.
I don't know who you get your information from, but this is incorrect. Not sure why people keep saying this over and over again. It is common knowledge that Realtree has the deer hunting rights to Honey Brake. As land deals work, they do pay the owners of the property for those rights.

Stomper Jr, how cute, they even named him.
This isn’t deer hunting anymore guys, it’s deer farming. Almost all of us do it to a certain extent, let a certain buck live this year to see what he’ll become next year and if he’s big enough you shoot him. I’m guilty of it and I hate it.
Hunting almost isn’t enjoyable anymore cause everyone is worried about what someone who they don’t even know will comment about them. Kinda what I’m doing now making fun of someone for naming a deer. Just for the record, I make fun of EVERYONE who names deer.

Dad killed a public land buck named Big Foot about thirty five years ago.
In the age of game cameras, naming bucks is just an easy way to know which one fellow hunters are talking about. Not much different than naming stands.

Literally all of this is false

To each his own.
I'm no big-time landowner that has the means to manage a deer heard and grow these animals to their max potential, but boy I sure would like to be.
You may be right, deer hunting and free-range "deer farming" are two different things but that doesn't mean both shouldn't be enjoyed and respected. For instance, I am fortunate enough to have a basic 2400-acre timber company lease hunting club that we have enjoyed since the early 90s. Theres no strict management plan or shitty rule book on this club there's only family traditions and memories made at the deer camp. I put plenty of time and effort into this club planting food plots, tending to feeders, keeping up roads, etc. As for the hunting, I have killed 2 bucks out there in the last 10 years. Not for lack of opportunity but solely because I have enjoyed watching bucks age and grow to maturity. The buck I shot this year is 6.5 years old and I have watched him grow for 4 years. A bittersweet moment turning that page.
On the other hand, something I enjoy no more but definitely no less is traveling throughout the state and country bow hunting public land for these animals, spending days in the back country covering miles and miles of public hunting ground. "Hunting" is whatever you make it to be and should be enjoyed however you feel. If hunting isn't enjoyable anymore, then you are doing something wrong and that's your own fault.
PS, my opinion, if you are making fun of someone for naming a deer, then you more than likely have not been bitten by the bug of an animal that lives rent free in your mind for years. An animal that you have followed are chased for a season or 4. An animal that keeps us addicted to this chase. An animal that my boss and my wife both despise.

I would like to know how much that deer is now worth to real tree? Not how much it cost but how much is it worth in advertising?
All the articles all the shares like comments and follows, and it will all get rehashed after a 60day drying period. And the stomper jr tshirts.

Buck looks young (in the video).
Once they’re handling him shows how nice he is.

How far was the shot ?
I’m not impressed by any a-hole shooting a deer within 150 with a rifle. Big whoop.

Honey Brake Lodge Testimonials
Here's what a few of our customers have had to say about us.

Bill and Tyler Jordan, Realtree
There is no place in the South quite like Honey Brake. The whitetail and waterfowl hunting are incredible, and the staff treats you like family as soon as you arrive. If you’re traveling from out of state, you can expect everything, from your pre-hunt planning to your meals to your departure, to be smooth, professional, and totally stress-free. You won’t feel like a client, but rather, like an old friend visiting a classic Louisiana hunting camp for a few days.
