Had some cycling issues while shooting with extension tubes on the semi auto Gforce1 but have ran thousands of shells out of it. If the G-force two is any better, I would say they are a great budget option.

Correct. Per US forest service website, "Recreation Sites are Open
National forest recreation sites remain open during the Federal government lapse in funding."
Lots of helpful information on their website including maps.

I assume you are talking about the Calcasieu ranger district which would be south of Fort Polk, NW of Pitkin. That will be area 3. Mostly pine plantations with SMZs running through them that can offer plenty of thick cover and food sources. The other portion of the Calc ranger district is east of fort polk, closer to Alexandria and in Area 2.
Should be able to update the firmware and be good to go. Give customer service a call if you need any help. You can find the download and instructions on feradyne's website.

FYI, I did notice that Bull Bay offers a warranty for defects and also a $40 replacement for accidents.

Most of the guys that fish every day really don't put much effort into these kinds of things because they are too busy fishing and not sitting at their desk thinking about fishing. They also probably have a boat full of 7' Medium power H20 rods so when their customers break one, they can simply smile and hand them a new one.

I'm a nerd that thinks about fishing more often than I go fishing so here you go. I will say not all rod blanks have the same "Medium action", but this should be a fair starting point.

-topwater
>>6'6"-7'/Medium/Moderate-fast to fast/
>>Slightly shorter rod reduces fatigue while twitching / softer tip helps keep fish pinned at strike
-"heavy jigging"(1/4-3/8 oz jigheads)
>>6'6"-7' Medium power / Fast action
>>Can get a longer rod if you need help casting further
-"light jigging (glide/weightless -1/8 oz jigheads)
>>6'6"-7' Medium Light power / Fast action
>>This rod is the only rod I splurge on because it's in my hand 90% of the time.
-double rig
>>See heavy jigging
-popping cork
>>7'-7'6" Medium power / Moderate action
>>Long rod helps with long casts and line control

PS a 7'6" MH moderate-fast croaker stick is good addition for live baits.

Flats is correct, the Vanford was a spinoff of the old stradic CI4+ (awesome reel). I am biased to lightweight due to my preference in fishing style, so I mostly have light weight rods with the 2500 vanfords because I do not need the extra string capacity. The new stradics have a one-piece body and should be about as durable as they come. With the MH rods you have, the 3000 size stradics may be a good choice for you as an all-around do it all combo and should last a very long time. I'm sure that extra-large handle on the 3000s would be real handy fighting redfish.

The falcon coastal clearwater and the Waterloo salinity are fine picks in this price range. I would also say to have rods specific to what you want to do, and you will enjoy it much more. Throwing a 1/8oz jig for 6 hours with a 7'6" MH spinning rod won't be much fun. Neither will free lining live croaker with 6'6" ML X-fast. I agree that some of the <$100 options work just fine, but I would much rather splurge on a couple of decent rods to improve feel in the hand along with durability. Especially for spinning rods. If you really want to splurge, a waterloo HP lite with a Shimano Vanford 2500 is a sweet combo. The stradics are great reels also, just a little heavier.

It's a once in a lifetime tag. Meaning once you draw the tag, bull or cow, you can never draw again. That being said, the odds to draw a cow tag is about 60% and a bull is about .001% last time I checked.
Pretty sure China took close to 50% of the US ethane exports last year which was about 230K BPD.
I am interested and would love to discuss the opportunity with you. th9551837

Another way to check is to check your preference points. If you had 0 points and now you have 1 point you were unsuccessful. If you had 1 point and now you have zero, you were successful, etc. I drew with zero points this year, first time for that in quite a while. My CC was charged, and harvest report shows my tags.

To each his own.

I'm no big-time landowner that has the means to manage a deer heard and grow these animals to their max potential, but boy I sure would like to be.

You may be right, deer hunting and free-range "deer farming" are two different things but that doesn't mean both shouldn't be enjoyed and respected. For instance, I am fortunate enough to have a basic 2400-acre timber company lease hunting club that we have enjoyed since the early 90s. Theres no strict management plan or shitty rule book on this club there's only family traditions and memories made at the deer camp. I put plenty of time and effort into this club planting food plots, tending to feeders, keeping up roads, etc. As for the hunting, I have killed 2 bucks out there in the last 10 years. Not for lack of opportunity but solely because I have enjoyed watching bucks age and grow to maturity. The buck I shot this year is 6.5 years old and I have watched him grow for 4 years. A bittersweet moment turning that page.

On the other hand, something I enjoy no more but definitely no less is traveling throughout the state and country bow hunting public land for these animals, spending days in the back country covering miles and miles of public hunting ground. "Hunting" is whatever you make it to be and should be enjoyed however you feel. If hunting isn't enjoyable anymore, then you are doing something wrong and that's your own fault.

PS, my opinion, if you are making fun of someone for naming a deer, then you more than likely have not been bitten by the bug of an animal that lives rent free in your mind for years. An animal that you have followed are chased for a season or 4. An animal that keeps us addicted to this chase. An animal that my boss and my wife both despise.

Just my opinion as a few others have said. Alot of people are jealous of this deer because of who shot it and how. The real accomplishment here is that of the HB team and growing a 200" gross TYPICAL whitetail in central Louisiana. A deer that will more than likely break the LA state typical record that has stood since 1939 (1943 depending on who's asking). Also, HB isn't landlocked. Sure, it is a massive piece of private land that is extensively managed, but it isn't land locked. These deer are still subject to predation, disease, vehicles and poaching just like any other hunting property. HB, as well as other private landowners in the region grow and harvests many impressive, mature bucks every year on their property, but it takes a very special animal to reach this caliber.

For those of you wondering, below are the measurements before drying period. PS, I didn't check the math. These are from the score sheet the night of.
