I caught a few on Hamburger Helper when I lived in the Keys last summer. Bastards are sneaky.

Guys, how common is it for these premier offshore guys to actually fish? I've contacted a couple and they all seem to want to put me with one of their other guys. Which I don't necessarily have a problem with, but if I'm going to spend that type of money I want a pretty good idea that we're going with a guy who is going to work his arse off to put us on fish. (FYI I understand it's fishing and you don't slaughter them every day)

Most of the first class outfits are gonna work their nuts off to put you on the fish. Regardless of who the captain is.

I have had some bad experiences with the guide bait and switch, but it's always been on inshore trips. Most of the offshore guys that have been around for awhile tend to be pretty good.

My regular crew is starting to become flakes due to kids, money, wives, and life in general. I may need to host an interview in the ob.
