they should leave it open in my opinion
the lake is much healthier with a fresh water flow
it's fantastic for the crabs

You can see the mud line driving the causeway sometimes. Plus, I don't think they want that amount of chemicals being dumped into the lake continuously

Completely fricks up the lake and rigolets fishing and turns a relatively clean lake into a sewer/chemical pit.

Actually, the opposite. The Lake is the Northshore's sewer lagoon. Fresh water from the BC flushes that out. People mistake clear for clean, and muddy for dirty. Not true in this case.

The Mississippi River is the nation's sewer. I cannot imagine the Northshore water is less clean than the Miss River. I'm not talking about the color. I'm talking about the chemicals, sewage, and runoff from 50+% of the country

Does that make it more clean and less dirty than the lake?

this was the consensus I remember the last time this happened. But that opening took place in May. I was hoping an earlier event date would (perhaps) lessen the impact.

Theres a reason Venice is one of the most productive fisheries in the world, if the river water was full of toxic shite instead of a shite ton of nutrients this wouldn't be the case

from what it looks like, the toxins aren't bad for an area until they get out the current and settle on the Bottom of the GOM.(Dead zone)
