Anyone who goes with this gun, I highly recommend getting the 5+1 Pearce grip extension for the standard mags. It makes a big difference, especially if you have huge gorilla paws like me.
Where did you get yours from?
ETA: looks like Amazon has em

I carry an LC9 with Lasermax. Paid around $450.

Does anyone in the BR area know of CC renewal classes that don't have a 4 month waiting list?
Kirk Klienpeter in St. Francisville. I have to dig his number, but he gives a good class and has an awesome range

I used him as well. Definitely recommend him.

S & W Shield if you can find one, costs around $450. Single stack, 7 and 8 round capable, less than 1" width, very comfortable and weighs 19 oz. Numerous holsters available.
This... I just bought one from Jim's firearms in Baton Rouge and I love it

For concealment, I agree with the statements on the Kahr. The nano is slightly flatter though because the kahr slide release sticks out a bit but both shoot great.

I think the Nano not having an external slide release is the worst design flaw imaginable. How are you supposed to clear a double feed? Even if it's made for concealment and needs to be slim, there are plenty of subcompact 9mms with low profile releases. Beretta really missed it on that one.

I've often seen the Kahr CM9 recommended here. I held one at the gun show Saturday and liked the way it felt. May get one later.

What's surprising to me is that, compared to all other subcompact single-stack 9mms, I feel the CM9 has the softest recoil impulse. It's not Downey soft by any means, but compared to the others, it's doable.

Bapple, how does the recoil impulse of the CW9 compare to that of the CM9?

Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of shooting a CW9. But I have shot a CW45 that also shot softly.
I guess the defining characteristic is that without the added weight of the slide and the greater weight at the end of the muzzle, there is definitely a bit more snap. But for the experienced shooter like yourself, it would be a gun you could shoot all day at the range (with Talon Grips, that is

Serious question cause my wife has indicated an interest in shooting with me in the near future. I have a .32 S&W revolver for her to start with but down the road I'd love to forgo the "obvious choice" of a 380 to sorta streamline my ammo needs.

Well yes and no.
Yes because the grip is slimmer so she can get a good grip.
But no because she can't get a full 3-finger grip without the extended magazine.
I have a 7 rounder in mine almost all the time though. If you can get your hands on a 7 round mag, the CM9 should be fine for her. I also strongly recommend Talon Grips for it too. The checkering ruins your palm after a while.

The CW9 grip is 1/2" longer than is the CM9; one can get a full 3 finger grip on the CW9.

+1
The CW9 would be a great handgun for her if she doesn't mind the extra length (
