A buddy and I are wanting to do a hunt for some specks this year and could use some advise. We live in Leesville and are from out of state, but willing to travel really anywhere. From what I have seen on Facebook groups and forums in the last year it seems that Gueydan might be the place to go, but if anyone could chime in with a place/guide/time of year to go it would be much appreciated

Erik Rue is usually on the specks pretty good, google his name and you will find his guide service

I’ve used Doug’s Hunting Camp in Klondike numerous times for Specs. Not inexpensive, especially for 2 birds per gun, but always limits...

I’ve used Goose Grabbers in Dewitt, AR

Limit was 3 instead of 2, and we limited both hunts

Lay down blinds were a blast

Can hunters still shoot geese in South La? It seems all I read indicates they are mostly entirely short stopped in Arkansas/Oklahoma/Kansas nowadays.

All that’s left. The geese can fly above the nets , while ducks get caught in them.
