Normally a polymer frame/ striker fired handgun man, but keep coming back to this pistol. Like the DA/SA over the SAO

Who’s some got some personal experience with them? Would be a nightstand and range gun for me. Maybe shoot a class here or there with it as well

If I had to do it all over again, I'd get a Mk25. I got a 'base' P226 and I'm happy with it, but I wanted the Mk25.

It's one of the finest fighting guns of all time - the classic Sig pistol is utterly fantastic.

I had a MK25 that was stolen. Replaced it with a Legion. My favorite handgun hands down.

I like the legion slightly better than the MK25. Do it, you won't regret it.

I have the 229 Legion and love it. The sights are awesome, and it's trigger is incredible. I'm normally a polymer striker fired guy, but I held one and fell in love.

No.

I have two old p226s. Both are West German. I absolutely love them.

I apologize for being rude up front.

So performance isn't that big a deal. What you mean is you need a status symbol gun to answer with when asked what you have?

"Nightstand" gun means to me the gun you pick up when things go bump in the night. Sounds like performance is a top criteria to me.

What am I missing?

If you’re just wanting performance for the average shooter, you’d have to have money to burn to buy any pistol that cost more than $550. Right?

Is there anything an M&P or Glock doesn’t handle?

Simply meant why pay $1000+ for a gun that sits on his nightstand and makes an occasional appearance at the range. That can be handled by a multitude of weapons at a far better price point.

Oh, BTW, OP did ask: "Someone talk me out of a Sig 226 Legion"

Not everyone makes decisions solely based on price. Especially Classic Sig buyers.

Is a common request on here, because they are expensive.

I mean, why do baws buy a Corvette? A Honda Civic will get you from point A to point B just as well, and far more efficiently from a cost standpoint.

They're fantastic pistols from a better, vanished time. I hate plastic toy pistols.

How many guns do you have? More than one? Hell, why would you need more than one? Need has nothing to do with it.

Easy there Big 'Un. Obviously my attempt at sarcasm was lacking. OP jokingly asked to be talked out of something. I took a swing at the softball and went with what I thought was the obvious...financial reason. Tried to be funny. Crashed and burned. Sorry to all the Ol' Boys I offended.

Damn y'all got serious real quick.

In all fairness, I did ask the question. However who wants to buy shite the strictly need? I’ve got plenty Glocks to cover the essentials.

Buy it. My (base) P226 is the favorite out of my handguns. It's just a fine firearm.
