What are some stuff yall have noticed over the years or something that has been passed down over time from relatives and other old timers that still rings true today. Something my pow-pow told me along time ago on Lake Seminole that helped me catch some smallmouth yesterday.
"Son if you can't get any game fish whatsoever to even chase a rooster tail right after sun up, you might as well just throw out a line for some catfish, drink some beer and just call it a day"

Always check a firearm to see if it's loaded

"Always take something out of the woods with you that you didn't bring in" Meaning, pick up trash you see. Keep the woods we love clean.

Just a few off the top of my head:
-muzzle awareness
-treat every gun as if it were loaded
-be aware of what is beyond your target when shooting
-always keep a sharp knife handy

Make sure someone not going with you knows your plans and when you will be back...

Call the bait shops before you assume they will have bait.

Good one.
I'll add: learn how to use a compass (smart phone app doesn't count)

Don't unhook your boat from the trailer until you have it backed down the ramp a ways.

The most direct route isnt necassarily the easiest or best.
We hunt hill sides that can get pretty steep, usually going straight up the hill will wear you out quick, but you can walk a bench in the general direction you are heading and take a gentler grade. It still comes out at the road and you have an easy walk back to the 4 wheeler.

If it stinks, don't eat it.

keep your feet sideways to the hill when going up or down a steep grade.

1. Don't Litter
2. I personally do not like going to camp to hunt alone. To many things can go wrong very quickly.
3. All the above stated firearm safety.
4. When going to camp, don't forget the bread, beer and whisky.

This works for deer to.
If the cows are grazing, the fish are biting and the deer are moving.
