Had one of the larger RTIC ones for a few years, but the plastic pulls on the zippers didn’t hold up and the zipper just died. I just pulled the whole thing completely off trying to fix it.

Are the more expensive yeti ones any better or is that just the nature of these soft sided ones? I have a hard sided one but it’s large, doesn’t travel well, needs two to carry etc.

Looking for something large ish to carry for four people, easy to take to the ball field, fits on a kayak/canoe etc.

Headed to academy or some such tomorrow to look for a solution. Your input is much appreciated

I have a Yeti Backpack cooler. Its great. Zipper is kind of a PITA.

I have an igloo soft square shaped cooler. Its great. Zipper is kind of a PITA.

I think they keep items cold about the same and the ice lasts about the same.

Yeti has a good warranty.

Yeti Hopper 18.

Big enough for everything you need but doesn’t get too heavy to carry.

We’ve really enjoyed this 36 can welded cooler from Walmart. Bought upon seeing it recommended here on TD.

Nope. It’s compression sealed. That latch on the front pulls it down tighter than Dick’s hatband. Depending on my orientation I have trouble unlatching it.

ETA: sorry didn’t initially see you are looking for a soft cooler.

I would say get the yeti hopper, but I’m sending my 3rd one back once I get the return package in the mail. The magnets strip has come detached within 2 years on on my last 2, after the zipper came off track on my first one. There’s actually a recall on the magnet hopper I currently have. But hey, I get a new cooler every couple years, so I guess it’s ok. Just missed the second half of softball season. My poor family had to drink water and Gatorade out of a Magellan soft cooler

ETA: even in the Magellan cooler, I’m still convinced the yeti ice packs produce ice. That’s all I’ve got.

I think I’d really like that latch given the zipper on mine just shite the bed.

Haven’t ever found a true soft side that doesn’t leak/weep, no matter the cost. The ones with a hard plastic liner are sort of the best of all worlds. Been using one of those for years, and the nice thing is being able to pull out the hard liner and give is a good scrub down in my utility sink periodically.

I have that exact one believe it’s ozark trail and was just renamed. It’s great and holds plenty. No zipper to worry about and seals well.

The one that I use the most and has held up very well, was the cheap camo soft cooler from Bucee's. I bring it on the boat or the beach, anywhere. I use it all the time. Now I'm not trying to keep ice in it for more than 24hrs, but it's perfect to throw a few beverages in to head to a crawfish boil at someone's house. Think I paid $25 for it, and has outlasted two RTIC soft sided coolers.

Get a Yeti and the yeti sticker for your truck so everybody knows you have a yeti.

I second the Bucee's recommendation. I think I'm on my second one in 10 years. Yes, they leak some, but not nearly as bad as some other ones I've owned. Zippers still work.

+1 on Yeti

Yes they're expensive but they'll also warranty it, forever, no questions asked

Mine only leaks if you knock it completely over, which is hard to do
