I wish I was in Mecca for the 2nd split opener. My buddies are going to beat them up pretty good.

Good luck.

Silhouettes actually work REALLY good. Most people don't understand (or take the time to think) why they work

I think they can see them upon approach, however, the angle to the ground is growing as they get closer. Once at 90 degrees, or a birds eye view from straight above the seem like they would disappear.

I wouldn't use 100% sillhouettes, but from a bulk standpoint, I don't think they would hurt a spread.

These are cool too...

Y Board sillhouettes... they fold out to stand up and collapse flat for tansport.

The easiest is you fill trashbags with a handful of dirt and tie off a corner. Or tie washers to a corner. Then grab about 30 and just fling them. But they won't last very long and won't look great unless you have 1000+.

Best is to get economy socks for the long haul.

That's what I'm thinking. TX rags are suspect as it is, I don't want to regress in decoy quality.

I went with the tanglefree. They have heads, backbone supports, wing paint and detailed eyes/bills. My biggest reason for choosing these was mainly because with the sale they were only $3/dz. more than the economy sillosocks, which have no paint, full length backbone or detail on the heads.

They look good to me, and seem much more durable than I expected. Once added to our spread, they'll boost our numbers and add more detail and motion.

Put together a box last night. There was no wind. You can see how the backbone supports the bag.

The only knock would be that the sentrys are a little goofy looking but the feeders are straight dope. Each 48 pack comes with 16 sentrys and 32 feeders.

I like the Tanglefree headless...not a fan of the 2d heads because the head will turn sideways once the wire comes out of the plastic stop on the head. I use 3d headed deadlies, headless tanglefree as silosocks. If I'm buying more, I'm going with more 3d heads. Deadlies are on sale at Rogers right now for $80/dz...that's a deal. The best 2d for the price is Winglockers... $37/dz. Total spread is currently 800 decoys with 2 rotary machines and hunting out of layout blinds.

Nice.

With these new slammer socks, we're at 96 2D head snow slammer socks, 250 rags tied up as windsocks (200 snow & 50 blues), 42 shells 6 full bodies (3 snows & 3 eagle heads), 4 snow foam flyers and 2 xxl white tyvek jackets. That puts our total decoy count at 400 on the nose counting the 2 jackets.
