Walking out of my bedroom and i see this little black snake poke its head out under the door of my water heater closet. Small thing and not scared of it as it obviously non-venomous. The problem is that i converted a garage to a the bedroom. I built a support system to allow me to level the floor . I built a small closet for the water heater but since that was an out of sight spot and i was short about 4 in of plywood ..i left a gap with access to under the floor. Im pretty sure the snake came in through a hole drilled in the exterior wall that was used for a generator (breaker box is in same closet) so....the snake can be anywhere in the closet or....under the floor. I called a wildlife trapper and he advised $400 to set out traps for 3 weeks. I see the glue traps online but is there something proven that will draw the snake out so i can get rid of it?

Second the cat. They will play with it for a while, then kill it. After the kill it, they will bring it to you to let you know they are doing their job.

I had a cat a couple years ago that was mostly an outside cat. He came up to me one day and puked up what looked to be about half a dead rat right at me feet when I saw him outside. His way of letting me know he's on the job.

One stick of dynamite should be sufficient.

I used to have some as pets, the speckled king kept getting out, my Mom shut that down. 1969 I think.

Drop the temp in the room and put a heating pad somewhere easy to see and away from fast escape routes

He is probably getting some warmth from the water heater though

So you're saying he should call a cab or stop by the nearest 7-11?

Ever see a chicken when it notices a snake? That snake doesn't stand a chance if you put a chicken in your house

I had chickens for years and never saw a snake. Something got into the coop one night and killed all the chickens. Since then I've had snakes all over the place. Chickens are badass when it comes to snakes.

I once saw one of my chickens strutting around the yard with a copperhead wrapped around its neck and biting its head. That chicken ate that snake like a boss and didn't skip a beat.

Not sure if this will work, but just a suggestion. The high pitch noise makers that you plug into an outlet that are supposed to keep mice away might work for snakes. I have never used them, but a buddy of mine has a spare office in his horse barn and he swears by them (His feed storage is adjacent to his office).
