definate copperhead. Killed one at my pond Sunday. Interesting, I had never heard about them traveling in pairs but I actually saw 2. was only able to get a shot at one. Was fishing a topwater frog and the big one chased it for about 20 feet all the way onto the bank. went to the house and got the .22..... HE GONE!!!!

I don't know how often they pair up this time of year, but I do know in October that first week of Squirrel season if you see one, there's a good chance there's another one.
My dad killed on that week one time and almost kicked it but changed his mind and kinda nosed it over with his shotgun barrel. The one it was fricking then hit his shotgun.
That's the same week I got caught in that hell hole full of them. fricking hate those things.

Give me rattlesnakes and cotton mouths all day. You can keep these sneaky bastards...
Was scouting a area for a bow stand in a bottom. I stepped over a big one (unknowingly) and a couple steps later saw one. I hollered at a buddy and as he was coming over I grabbed a big limb and broke it between two cypress knees so I could swing it. I walked over and said, he got bigger and whacked him. My buddy walks up as I was throwing the limb back down and said are you going to kill that one too? I near crapped my pants. I had stepped all over both of them and neither one moved. I whacked him too. Marked my GPS as copperhead cove and never went back. That's been about 8 years ago....
I hate their guts and livers too....

I got a ball python a few days ago & I didn't realize how similar they look to copperheads.
