Silver Lab pups

I’m looking into a few places to get a silver female but wanted to see if anyone here had any experiences. I’ve grown up with chocolate labs all my life and been around labs of all kinds since a baby. Grandfather bred them for a few decades in Texas and sold most down in Argentina. Just looking at something a little different

Cheesy, thanks for your input. If you had been intelligent enough to read the post you responded to, you would have understood that a “real lab” isn’t my concern (whatever that means).

If you know chocolates, why would you want to get a dog that has a worse history? From everything I know, Silvers have more health problems and can be more temperamental than the chocolate line they come from...
Sorry I don't have anything else to chime in with. I just hate to see a dog possibly be put down or given up to foster simply because someone was "looking for something a little different".
If you like the silver, get a Weimaraner. Not something that's been so cross-bred that it doesn't even know what it is either.

Instead, you are whining on here because people don't necessarily agree with your decision...especially because you haven't taken the first step to educate yourself on the dog that you seemingly want. Seems like a dick move to me.

Dude... You came to an outdoor board full of outdoorsman who've likely been around labs all their lives as well. We wouldn't be doing our duty as responsible pet owners if we didn't warn you about the history of the animal you're interested in. Some may be more subtle than others but that doesn't mean you get to be a pompous prick in return when the overall opinion of the board you voluntarily came to doesn't meet your's.

If folks were educated they would dry up the designer lab fad that is faux silva. Black, yellow, brown are the only recognized colors per akc, so the dog the op is looking for doesn’t exist.

Get a black dog, dude. Based on recent personal experience of watching my dog get lame (hip and elbow issues) about 10 y/o, id get a dog with hip, elbow and eye certs. Silver labs, i would never own one.

Holy shite, I didn’t realize this board was so full of itself. The lady in my life wants one and I told her I would look into it. I’m not asking anyone here to invest in silver lab stock.

I appreciate it man, the women just wants to see if there’s any local places that have upcoming litters. I’m a chocolate lab person but I figured asking this board wouldn’t hurt. Apparently the concept really upsets some of the posters here.
