Looking at the P229 compact. Anyone wanna weigh in?

I have a Legion 226. I like it a lot but will be getting a 229 as well. The 229 fits my hand just as well as the full size. Great guns if you are willing to spend the cash.
The smaller controls,mainly the slide stop/release, are a lot harder to use for releasing the slide. I end up slingshotting the slide.

I'm torn 50-50 between the full and compact.
I'd rather shoot my 4" 1911s or G19
vs 5" 1911 or G17 any day of the week.
I guess that means I'll ultimately be happier with the compact. Just hate to make a $1350 judgement call and have buyers remorse. Too bad there's no place to shoot guns before buying

I have a P226 Legion and its worth the money. The trigger is amazing and it very accurate.

Got a 229 coming in tomorrow. Does that gun fit the same holsters as other 229?

The dimensions are the same for the Legion so holsters should be compatible for a railed 229.

I have a P229 Legion, and it is my favorite pistol. The Grayguns trigger is great, and I always upgrade my sights. Those two items alone make it worth the uptick in price, IMO. The grips and finish are a nice bit of lagniappe.
