Side by Side Manufactures- Is one really better than another?

I would assume this is a brand loyalty hot button issue, but can you really go wrong with any of them?
I am leaning toward the Honda Talon X due to availability, real gears and because its a Honda, but I could easily go Polaris or Yamaha.
Just wondering are any manufactures junk you should stay away from?

I don’t think I’d buy one from Tractor Supply or similar. Polaris, Kawa, Kubota, JD, etc would be how I’d go.
I’ve got a Kubota and love it. Not fast, but works like a mofo.

Polaris is generally the standard

Tracker 4 wheelers and side by sides are badged as Tracker, but they are Arctic Cats. Just one year model behind Arctic Cats.
If it’s strictly for fun and not a work toy then the Talon would be awesome. If you want a Sport then Utility I’d go with the Yamaha Wolverine RMAX XTR. It’s a beast.

I don't need a work one, this would 100% be a ripping it through the trails. In an earlier thread people talked about places to ride them in the St. Tammany parish area and that is what we are looking to do. Places like the Zona park.
Chew Mentioned the RMAX and I am considering it because its like 70% Sport and 30% work.
Since this is a large purchase, I am just trying to avoid brands that I will regret buying.

I bought a yanmar 6 seater back in November and have been happy with it so far. It's a Yamaha Viking with Yanmar's name on it.

Depends on what you're looking to do.
Wanna go fast? Get an X3
Wanna just get out there? Rzrs are generally cheaper
The handful of Talon owners I've talked to claim that they the greatest thing ever. I've never rode in a group with one though.
Personally, I bought a damn party bus, Rzr xp4 highlifter. If money and kids weren't an issue, I'd have gone Maverick X3 turbo rr xmr all day. I'd rather use my savings for beer .

If you're looking for a hybrid type bike, check out the Polaris Generals.

Because brand loyalty is dumb.
Buy the one that suits your needs the best.
In that class, I've had the Yamaha YXZ and the RZR.
The rzr is easier to drive. The YXZ is the best built side by side that no one buys.

People get loyal to certain brands usually because they've had good experience with said brand in the past.
Back in the day, everyone I knew only bought Honda 4-wheelers....and for damn good reason. Those things just never died and they ran good when I saw other brands run like shite. If that's some "brand loyalty" trope, then so be it. Who cares. I'll buy Honda over anything till the day I die if reliabity and longevity is the main factor.
If you're just getting something to look cool, then just get whatever you want.

Your mistake is believing they own that category in every type of product.
Most of their small stuff is made in china.
I buy American or Jap.

Is your Yamaha a Sport Shift? If so would you buy or not buy it again based solely on the manual transmission?
I am not trying to buy something just to look cool. I want to buy something that is made to Rip so I can Rip it.

Negative. I bought the manual trans.
Do the weller oil mod to the clutch, and install a second clutch spring out of an R1 on top of the factory spring.
Basically makes the manual clutch bulletproof.
Does eliminate the factory slipper clutch...which means if you were to downshift stupidly hard on high traction surfaces you'll eventually wipe second gear. But I mean at 10k miles or so
ETA: with a full exhaust and refresh you can get them to 106-108mph. No other brand is geared that high.
Eta: the newer ones are geared lower and come on larger tires to make them more trail friendly. I had a first gen.... Well two first gens.

Thanks for the information Rando. In the end it sounds like I should just get what I want from one of the bigger players and it will be an awesome machine.
I am very intrigued by the manual transmission on the Yamahas. Its nice to hear real world information on them.

Negative.
I live a good 100 miles from either. That may be ?Ricky? I did a clutch setup like mine for a guy in New Orleans a few years ago.
I haven't had one in a few years. I barely keep things a year

RMAX4 is the answer to your dilemma.
I hope to get one in the next couple months.
