Nobody asked for this shite, but here goes: My personal beliefs are that if an individual commits any sin then if they are a member of a Christian religion then they will have to answer for their sins. It's not my place to judge or condemn them.

They don't deserve an apology. He clearly said even though he doesn't condone it he will not condemn those that do it.

That is 100% my belief too. In fact Jesus said as much don't look at the speck in another man's eye when there is a log in yours or something to that affect. God and only God is going to judge everyone at some point.

I don't know Phil or anyone in his family, but I like to think the values displayed on their show are of the same I try to teach my children. I have gay folk in my family, and the way that I appreciate my Biblical role in my home, I will have to explain to my children one day it is wrong, while still making sure they love their gay family members and friends regardless.
I think it takes a lot more character for a man to say something like he did, knowing he'd be bashed for doing so, than it would to just go with the flow of the mainstream US mindset.

Poor ol Phil, exercising his freedom of speech....
It isn't really that. Phil can say what he wants. Government won't limit him. But as he offends the gays, the gays will express their dislike of what he says. If it hurts the show and the marketing empire, that is the cost of speaking your mind.
In fact, ol Phil is just being Phil and that's ok. The people who will be nervous are the ones selling ad time and products. A lot of people involved in the effort to sell stuff are gay.
But he'll be ok if he doesn't carry on about it and make it his primary message. On the other hand, if he wants it to be his focus, eventually the show will get canned.

his focus
That is killing some ducks and catching some fish and going on speaking engagements where he talks about religion and his focus.

Hate the sin, love the sinner.

I don't think he said anything wrong, I may not agree with him, but that is his right.
But you cannot lump gays in with drunks and terrorists and not expect some criticism.

I don't think Duck Commander had a huge gay following, or Duck Dynasty for that matter. I've hunted all my life and never crossed another hunter that like the tube steak.....

But at the end of the day, let's think......

I take it you are refering to the show Duck Dyansty.... Duck Commander is the company that supplies hunting supplies to hunters, mostly straight hunters....

When I read that I intuited that Phil aligned with the Biblical sense of sin and said that there is no difference in sin.... sin is sin is sin. Those in our society who want to feign indignation at any and every opportunity will have a field day with it.

I'm aware of the difference
I'm quite certain that the same gays that love the show, probably own a few DC duck calls...

This is correct. When talking about such topics, you just have to choose your words carefully.
