Seeking Deer/Duck Hunters in Avoyelles Parish

Earlier in the week I talked to a realtor who has a listing for a tract in Avoyelles Parish. He claims it is awesome deer and duck. He also stated it is less than five miles (the way the crow flies) from the famed "Duckhorn Ranch". I personally have never heard of Duckhorn Ranch nor can I find anything about it on the internet. Could anyone share info about this general area and/or this supposed famed ranch with regards to deer and duck hunting? Thanks to all who respond.

A realtor is gonna tell you all kinds of good stuff so he can sell it
There is a reason they are selling it.
Find that reason

I don’t doubt the deer hunting being awesome but as far as ducks go. 5 miles doesn’t seem like much but sometimes 1/2 mile is the difference in being covered with ducks to getting to watch them flyover
And I can think of 8 or 10 historically “legendary” or “famed” duck hunting clubs that are far from that now
Very very few places in Louisiana hold ducks consistently anymore. It’s just a fact. People that have those places don’t ever sell it either

I have not hunted it personally, but have a good friend that hunts Duckhorn regularly. From what he’s told me the duck hunting has been inconsistent the past 2-3 years. The deer he’s shown me on camera out there are real nice and he has shown me videos and pics of some real nice bucks the past couple years from there. He killed the most wicked looking 6 point ive ever seen this past season. The deer had a pretty cool story behind it as they believe they’ve had it on camera for 10 years or so.

There is no place in that area that has had awesome duck hunting in the past few years.

Duckhorn is right there in grassy lake. I hunt the are, and grew up 20 min up the road awesome deer hunting and big fox squirrels. Duck hunting sucks around hear period. Unless there shooting ducks on the roost. Im not sure were exactly were your at. But three rivers, if you go to red river bay side of grassy can be seen, and there is a gate now, but not long ago you could get to Lake ophelia from there as well. Big deer man, and if you do have to go down the log road to get to your place, get you a 4x4 with good suspension. But if its a good price I'd by it for sure. I been looking for a camp to buy back in there, Dad told me stories when he was coming up when they would go back there for either sex weekend people would come from all over the state to hunt the area for deer, until the log road got to bad.
Is this place closer to Grassy WMA? Which would be past duckhorn
One thing ima add is that when the river is high all back there does flood almost to the levee, BUT every year it does go down and hunting is fine.
