Anyone checked out the NEW Sea Pros? 2015 - present? Thoughts? Concerns?

I'm trying to find a 24-27 used bay boat sub $70K and it's near impossible. Found a Sea Pro 248 with a 300 merc for 60 and there isn't much out there about them since they are only recently back in the game.

You aren't shopping in the right places. A totally loaded out 23v kenner sold for a little over 30k in BR a few weeks ago

You're asking about a sea pro and think a Kenner is a POS?

Boat brand trends

Kenner = declining, not made any more.

Sea Pro = on the upswing

Ah well, enjoy the expensive arse seapro.

As best i can tell, and I haven't been in a new seapro yet, is that most of the new boats on the market are paper bag hulls with caps, shite wiring, structural foam and good lines. Its very easy to make a cheaply built liner boat look expensive via T top and a fancy leaning post. Frontier, blackjack, pathfinder, skeeter, Parker are the brands that I can pull off the top of my head that I wouldn't be concerned about hull construction.

Sea Pro 228(22'8") DLX with a 200 four stroke boat owner here. Purchased one for 50k recently, it had 70hrs on it and came loaded. This is a soldier boat. Trust. I extensively searched and saw a bunch of 248s...never saw one under 60s, mostly mid 70s

Boat club here in FL has one with 300 Yamaha. Had it out last week in windy/rough conditions. We got beat up pretty good. Don't know the specs but seemed light.

Motor and steering wheel price, i think they are closer to $85,ooo modestly equipped.
2Cool has some 23-24-25 Haynies/Majeks with low hours/warranty.
Some even have umbrellas

At 70k you have a decent budget for used boats in that size but the market is definitely in the seller’s favor. You will have to move really quick when you find something.

Here is a Ranger 2510 within your budget. I’m sure it won’t last long if nothing is wrong with it.

I wouldn’t take a sea pro if it were for free. Newer boats may be better, but 2000 era boats were junk and full of problems.

I offered him $65 and he said he is waiting to see if he gets a better offer. Said he was gonna detail and service it this weekend. To which I said why? I'll come pay cash this weekend.

He just posted it and he knows the market. He’ll probably get what he is asking. Those Rangers are built like tanks. I love how the console opens forward and the large bilge access.

ETA: I crawled over one at Cabelas recently. They had it listed for 125k but I think that was with the Mercury 400 on the back.
