Where is the best place in or around BR? I’d like to not have to travel far but I am looking to take some long range shots.

What do you consider “long shots”?

First priority is a place to sight a rifle at 100yds as close to BR as possible.

Then at some point I would like to take longer shots, 500 yds maybe. I realize I might have to drive farther to find that.

For 100yds you have Bridgeview (have to be a member to shoot on rifle range) and Sherburne on the west side of the river. Then you have Nicks and Honey Island (I think they have 100yds) in the East side.

If you want to shoot out to 500 yds you would have to become a member at Palo Alto and qualify to shoot on the 600 yd range.

You’re fricked. There needs to be a 500 yard range in Livingston or AP.

It's great to have a 500 or 600 yard range, I've got a place with a 600 yard line, that's not too awfully far from my house, and it's not all that expensive to go shoot there. Trouble is I don't reload, and factory ammo that I can keep good groups with at 600 yards, is really expensive, so I just shoot a few times at that distance now and then. I punch a lot of holes on their 300 yard targets though. I need to start reloading.

Iberville Parish range. It's open to the public. Free if you're a cop or a resident of the parish. I think it's 12 bucks a day if you're not. You have to buy their targets. 100 yard rifle range, 50 yard pistol and shotgun range, 25 yard (I think) bow range with an elevated shooting platform.

Beyond that, the closest place I know of that has lanes over 100 yards is Palo Alto in Donaldsonville and you have to be a member or know a member; they're not open to the public. Memberships are only open once a year by invite if I remember right, so you can't just roll in and join up.

I think the membership period is in the spring, though, so if you want to regularly shoot at 200+ yards and want to join, you need to be starting the application process now. There is a limited number of available spots and it's first-come first-serve on the waiting list. The faster you move, the better the chances you can get through the interview process and maybe get an invitation to join this year.

Woodman Springs range in Gloster Ms. it’s a 25/50/100 yard range. The fee is $3 per day.

Reloading components are hard (impossible) to find right now. I scoop up what I stumble across online . I primarily reload for fun. My 11 year old son and I loaded 50 rounds of 3030 Sunday. He was excited.
