I second Searchers. You will not find a place with more knowledge than them when it comes to jeeps modifications. Some places will do it cheaper than them, only real drawback.

Don’t mind the extra coin if someone will do it right.

Agree. When doing lifts, it always disrupts the geometry of the system. They know what will help give you the best ride with the least chance of death wabble.

You will need to go into it with an idea of what your needs are. Are you wanting a trail jeep, mall crawler, or somewhere in-between. How serious are you about wheel travel, tire size, etc?
Some of the top end systems like Metalcloak's longarm systems can get into $5K just for the parts and that's before shocks and other needed items.

Good luck, just sold our TJ, will get another in the near future.

Bought this Jeep from a friend. It’s high mileage but 100% stock original. Very little rust and not a dent on it.

I’m using it ride around on nice days and when the hunting club roads get bad. I’m not going to drop it in the river but I do need it to be mud capable.

If they are as knowledgeable as y’all say im sure we can work something out pretty easily.

You can do it with a couple jacks and Jack stands and a good set of tools. I’ve lifted every truck I’ve ever had myself.

If it was just me I would. My teens will be driving it also so I’ll let a pro do it.

Do yourself a favor and get plugs for the frame holes and drill some drain holes in the bottom if you plan on going through any mud. TJ frames have a tendency to rust from the inside out because they trap water/mud inside of them.

Truth. A friend bought a used, cherry looking, Tomb Raider Rubicon and after having it a few months he discovered it was going to basically need a new frame.

There is no way for the dirt/mud/sand to get out on some sections of the TJ frame.

I used a hose with a yamaha jetski flush nozzle on it to clean out the frame on my TJ.

Worked pretty well in the 17yrs I had it here in the panhandle.

What rear axle do you have and what size tires you plan to run? I've got an 05 TJ right now with a busted Dana 35, and that's just from running 33's. If you plan to run 35's you need to either find a Dana 44, which is almost impossible these days, or do a Ford 8.8 conversion. If you have a Dana 35, it's a time bomb.

As many have suggested, Searcher's is probably your best bet, however, unless you are proposing to use the most current expensive lift kit, prepare for the up sale.

They have a place on 59 called Altered Altitude. No idea if they’re a good shop or not but they always have a lot of jacked trucks out front.
