Don’t know if it’s been posted or not but has anyone seen the Richland parish deer killed yesterday? Buck masters official scorer has it at 309. Potential new state record and one of the largest crossbow bucks ever killed.

If i had that on camera I would only hunt out of a tree saddle with a recurve shooting my hand rolled cedar arrows with fletching from my spring gobbler.

Jk I would shoot a crossbow out of a box blind with corn stacked 4ft deep if it had to.

Like to wear leggings if I'm in that palmetto. Dem rattlers hang out in it. Don't see much of it until you get East of Monroe. You start to see it on the side of I-20.

I actually wouldn’t. Although I hunt with a Mathews No Cam, I also hunt with a traditional longbow.

To each his own. One day when I’m old and decrepit, maybe I’ll get a crossbow.

Rumor has it that the buck killed got out of a near by high fence last year. They are doing a genetic test. More than likely this record won’t stand as a “free range” deer.

This is false

They have pics of the deer each year since 2017

Buck had a nubby tail so they could tell it was the same deer. The pics of it over the last 4 years are pretty amazing

This will be interesting to watch, and see the genetic tests, so if it got out of a high fence 3 years ago? To me if it is determined that it was a fenced deer at one time but had been “loose” for 3 years, then I feel it is a “wild” deer, but not native ..so what would that say for the record book? And if he is not allowed because of his genetic code ...what about his offspring the last 3 years.......Pandora’s box

Beautiful buck regardless , and congrats

No it’s not loaded. It has been either let down or he never cocked it again after shooting. The tool that comes with that bow allows you to uncock it without shooting it. You can see the string running perpendicular to the cams which means it’s not cocked.
