Yep I adopted one of those bastards 2 years ago because I have daughters. Son of a B has grown on me with his productivity. Meow mix is pretty cheap FWIW

I think I found the source of entry. The a/c lines going into attic is not totally sealed up where it enters the house. Surely this has to be the spot.

Would also be a good idea to try to find where they are coming from outside and attack there as well.

They spend their whole lives in a 150 -200 ft radius unless there is. Flood or fire.

just obligatory update since this was bumped

I called Lamberts pest removal and he came and through a bunch of packets in my attic. Basically rat will eat this and then need water resulting in death

He also cleaned my attic around the stairs

I havent seen one turd since then

I hate cats but I hate rats more. I used to get them bad when I lived in Texas because I lived next to the woods. That is, until I got a cat. This bastard does work and he leaves me carcasses all the time by the back door plus a bird or 2, but that is collateral damage on my war with rodents. Leave that cat outside all the time and they become lethal killing machines.

I had this problem at my previous home. A field behind my house was cut one October and suddenly my attic became infested with mice and rats. I put a bunch of sticky and regular traps and ended up getting around 10 over a span of about a month. I ended up putting poison up there after that and never had any more scratching sounds or any smell. Not sure if the traps got them all and the poison just rotted or if they ate the poison and died outside instead of inside the attic. Either way, my problem was over and I was happy.

Rodent Away - Amazon

Contracting buddy of mine has an office in his barn and his feed supply is the next room over. He swears by these ultrasonic rodent away systems. (I just grabbed one to link that had good reviews, I do not know what model he uses). Also if you have pets in the house, this probably will not be a good idea.

Seems to me you have two options. Either stop at beer #7 or keep drinking and find out how many it’ll take for you to actually light the match.

Those little packets are called Just One Bite. You can buy them at a farm supply store. Not the big box ones but the privately owned ones. They worked well for me.

Just one bite. Worked great for the rats in my attic. I keep poison bars up there year round & keeps them away. They will die in the wall at first but the smell wont last forever. I would rather use poison then messing around w/ traps - that seems like a pain in the arse.
