Public land bowhunting

For those who hunt public land with a bow, what is your go to set up? Climber or ground blind? I want to start doing some public land bow hunting after rifle season ends, but not sure what is the best way to attack it. Looking for some recommendations.

Climbing stands are more versatile and effective. But they carry significant risk.

I use a climber. Ground blind would be tough at the NWR i hunt on because of needing to be above the brush to get a decent shot.

Climber all the way. Summit Goliath is the shite.

I feel exposed on the ground and my climber is more comfortable than any seat I own or any log I can find to sit on, so I use a climber. I feel like I have less of a chance of being spotted if I'm over 20 feet up so I usually hunt high. My cousin, however, has killed 3 deer with a bow this year from the ground. So I'm not knocking ground hunting. It's just my preference to be in a climber. Make sure you wear a harness if you go the climber route though. They can be dangerous.

I use a Summit Viper. Think the Goliath is just a little wider and a few lbs heavier but the Summits are simple as can be to setup

Do you all scout preseason or do you have spots that you like to hunt every season? I am trying to get started.I normally duck hunt, but the last few seasons have been very hit or miss. Tired of fighting fog, low water, and jr duck commanders for few birds. I figured I could start at the end of this season so I have a idea of what to expect next season.

Climber and lock on (for swamps with wide trees that get narrow; climber on areas with a lot of straight trees like pines).
I’ve yet to shoot a deer on public with my bow.
Have shot hogs.
After a few deer, on the ground might be my n ct challenge.

Man don’t wait. The rut is just getting good at many wmas and nwrs. You don’t need to have scouted before hand. Several of my best hunts have been walking in a new area with my climber, finding hot sign and climbing a tree.

I use either my summit viper or my loc on and stick setup depending on the trees in the area. The loc on you can get in any tree, climber you're limited on what you can climb. Whichever you choose, make sure to always be scouting. Public land, variables are always changing, so stay mobile and adjust according to the sign. Scout just as much, if not more than you hunt and you'll be successful.

All depends on the situation. I hunt from the ground and in a tree. One of my favorite spots has no climbable trees, but a lot of deer sign.
You have to base your attack on the area you are hunting, but be prepared--hunting from the ground is a lot more difficult.
