re: Outdoor Lessons in Baton Rouge?

What’s the going rate for an hour of instruction with Burkstaller? Trying to get back into the game and I need some work on my swing. I have been thinking about getting some instruction to get me on track.

Do you all scout preseason or do you have spots that you like to hunt every season? I am trying to get started.I normally duck hunt, but the last few seasons have been very hit or miss. Tired of fighting fog, low water, and jr duck commanders for few birds. I figured I could start at the end of this season so I have a idea of what to expect next season.
Public land bowhunting

For those who hunt public land with a bow, what is your go to set up? Climber or ground blind? I want to start doing some public land bow hunting after rifle season ends, but not sure what is the best way to attack it. Looking for some recommendations.
re: What exactly is a plant “operator”?

I am a plant operator. Normally my plant runs smooth so I sit in the control room studying P&ID’s until the guy working the board tells me something needs to be adjusted. I also have to take samples of water and oil on a daily basis. I have hourly rounds I have to make and record temperatures and pressures to make sure the plant is running smooth. If something isn’t running normal levels I have to adjust valves according to what the board man needs to make sure the plant puts out enough product.

So we have one of these guys who must hunt with a Mathews 80 lb draw weight and kill 6 deer a year bc he's a real American bada$$.
No I'm not crippled, elderly, or a woman. I used a crossbow because of where I hunted. Marsh islands with no cover other than natural grass where the deer and hogs had to get real close to you to get a shot. I tried hunting with a compound bow there and I will admit, I wasn't good enough to draw back without spooking or in enough time to get a shot. So call me what you want, but it's guys like you that ruin hunting for kids and others. Trying to be an internet tough guy.

I had the Barnett Wildcat. My dad decided to give up compound bows after shoulder problems. He just purchased a mid grade Excalaber and it shoots nice. I find it's a little loud, but it shoots fast enough to not have to worry about that spooking deer.
Im not sure about the Raptor. I would do a lot of research before buying. Maybe I just bought a lemon but I was disappointed with mine and went back to compound bow hunting.

By no means am I an expert, but I had a cheap crossbow and it was very difficult to shoot accurately. You had to cock it the exact same every time or the string would jump and I would miss high.
I know what some are thinking. How hard is it to cock it the same or who can't cock a crossbow, but it wasn't that simple. The speed of cock and angle the bow was sitting when cocked had to be exactly the same.
Now my father in law has a 10 point crossbow which is more expensive and you can robinhoood arrows pretty easy with that.

And employers don't want to train.
If I could find 10 people that want to work, show up on time and don't miss every other day, have reliable transportation, can pass a drug test, get a TWIC card and are willing to work with a little sweat involved as well as get along with others and take a little pride in their work product, I'll train them all day long and start pay at $25.00 an hour and a good chance of decent overtime on occasion.
Can't find anyone that fits the above bill and it
hinders my growth tremendously.
Where can I find a job like this? I'm a teacher and after 8 years I'm not sure I can teach the rest of my life.
