you seem to be the only one that understands this is nothing more than a power grab and tax increase.
to thoe saying everyone wants good public land but doesnt want to pay for it....was hunting and fishing better before LDWF took over "managing" these lands or after?
Furthermore, the taxpayer and the baw (the ones who already fund this whole thing) get stuck with the bill.

OR, you just dislike government. Louisiana has some of the cheapest licenses in the country. And they've been that way for a while. You know what hasn't been that way for a while? The cost of doing business. Everything else has gone up in cost.
The people that oppose the license increases are probably the same people that complain about the lack of management of our WMAs. The simple truth is, they just don't like government.
The fact is, the math has been posted here several times. In some cases, this ends up cheaper than what we have now. In other cases, it's a $3 increase.
But, to understand that involves reading.

Louisiana is now one of seven states to license and charge usage for kayaks. That’s a blanket statement. Now, the average guy that doesn’t want to buy a boat will have to go to academy. Pay anywhere from 299 each and up for his 2 kids to paddle. Then he wants to fish out of one.
He’s looking at 3x the amount on top of his licensure to fish etc. I gues youre going to be okay with taxing his paddle too? You must like government.
Everything’s a tax.
To understand that would involve reading, right?
Just keep being fine with fee increases on top of your taxes and wildlife funds. You probably round up at bass pro; which makes you a swell guy.

Maybe you should READ earlier in the thread where I said I am not in favor of the paddle boat registration requirement.
Except it hasn't passed yet.
Again, reading prevents alot of dumb statements.

Either way. Talking about reading. I was responding to the the guy that responded to my post about gov overreach and you come Karen-ing in.
You didn’t read any of that, did you?
This is the oB and not the sec rant, baw. You come in claiming to be correct but not having a clue about what I was responding to, I’m going to claim rights on labeling you a try-hard for the moment.
I won’t remember you in a day or two anyway and will tell you good job if you catch a 6.5 lb bream in Arizona. But for now, you have the axe to grind off a statement you didn’t bother seeking what I said to lsu777.

You were responding to a Randomly Generated Username who thought you were the only guy who understood what this was all about. But he, like you, are just opposed to any additional funding going to the department because you think it's being misused. You made that very clear.
Again, the math has been stated here a few times--this isn't a massive increase in annual license fees.
I also never claimed to be "correct". I'm just pointing out what I'm seeing--someone who very likely views any form of government oversight as overreach.

No need for me to carry on and on and on with you.

Prior to June 1, 2022, any bona fide resident of this state may obtain a lifetime hunting license. The lifetime hunting license shall be in lieu of the following recreational hunting licenses: basic hunting, big game, primitive firearms, bow hunting, the Louisiana duck license, the WMA hunting permit, and the wild turkey license. After June 1, 2022, the license shall no longer be sold, but shall
1 continue to provide to any holder privileges in lieu of basic hunting, deer,
2 waterfowl, and turkey hunting licenses and shall permit WMA access.

I don't even know what you're yammering on about now. What does how long someone has been here have anything to do with this conversation?
Posted on 5/6/21 at 8:37 pm to Cowboyfan89
I am never for more taxes but the over 60 lifetime hunting and fishing license is just not fair. I have one. I paid less for it than a 16 year old will pay for an annual license.

you draw the line?
Pirogue? Kayak? Paddleboard? These have to be registered?
What if the kayak or paddleboard is inflatable?
What if I paddle it with my hands?
I paddle my boogie board with my hands. That too?
Now that I think about it, I paddle around with my hands while sitting on a pool noodle.

I disagree. They get money up front. It keeps people loyal to the state. We aren't the only state that has a lifetime license. I literally know a handful of people my age (35) that actually have a lifetime license.

The guy's username is lsu777. It just looks like a random username.
Anyway, this is pointless. We aren't going to agree on this issue.

Have fun disagreeing with anyone that has a number behind their name, I suppose.
You need to get your last shot in and call it a victory because I’m not interested in going past this last reply with you.
