I know not much about gun value, a friend of a friend offered me $250 for a savage 243 bolt action with a Simmons scope, he shot it a few times before making the offer. If I recall correctly I think i paid 275 ten years ago. Should I let it go for that or seek more?

Eta this is the scope LINK

My little girl has a youth axis in 243. I paid $179 for it at Walmart . The model makes all the difference.

Or just learn to shoot.

I still use varmint load .223 to hunt deer. I have never had one go more than 10ft.

IMO, you gotta figure how much will it cost to replace it and what's it costing you to keep it. I've never sold a gun that I didn't regret later and I for sure wouldn't buy nor sell a gun/scope combo thats only worth $250. I'd put it in a sock and store it for a child or grandchild first rifle.
