Never use them. For the most part they're just shiny objects for those that don't know a lot about bass fishing (not shitting on those folks either).

I remember "back in the day" they had those with a little spinner on the front and three hooks.

I never used them but every old tackle box you looked in had one

You can still find them. I think one of the Linders created that.

I have one of those in my tackle box. I keep it as a reminder, not to use it. I retrieved it from the throat of a starving bass that tried to eat a piece of night crawler I was using for bluegill bait. It made me wonder how many fish have to die a slow and painful death because of some fisherman's non-digestible lure in it's throat or gullet.

Those were actually a Creme product. Nick Creme created the first plastic worms back in the late 40s (called the scoundrel). And they also have been selling those pre-rigged ones with the spinners and hooks for as long as I can recall (about 50 years).

Growing up, the next door neighbor had a cow pasture pond they'd let any of the kids fish whenever we wanted. One of the kids on the street wasn't much into fishing, and he was poor, his tackle box didn't have much in it. And because we thought he was a dork, we didn't share our tackle with him. We were all fishing on baitcasters with texas rigs, carolina rigs, weightless, pop-r's, buzz baits, all the stuff that Bill Dance and Roland Martin told us to fish with every Saturday morning on their TV shows.

He pulled out one of these pre-rig worms with a spinner and we all laughed, you ain't gonna catch shite with that, dork. He casts out with his shitty little zebco. Sure enough, he caught a 3 pound bass, which in that pond, was a trophy. Second biggest to ever come out of that pond.

I know the Creme Ones back in the day were used frequently, but for the cost of like 4 pre riggeds you can get a 20 pack of Zoom, lead bullet weights, and a 6 2/0 hooks to last you a few trips.

2/0 hooks

I gotta get some of those fancy TruTurn hooks my brother’s been ranting about.

But he uses Trilene and I’m a Stren guy so he might not know what he’s talking about.

The new hook tech to try is VMC REDLINE, they're coated with something to be super slick, almost slippery like.

I’ve also heard people talking about the Owner Haymaker but stock of 3/0 and 4/0 is limited.

Had a co-angler wear me out from the back of the boat on Lake Eufaula using a purple one with white dots, dragging it on a Carolina rig. Wasn’t one with spinners, it was just a crooked pre-rigged worm that cork screwed behind the weight.

FYI...creme worms are still available, and they still catch fish.

My dad owned that old Sporting Goods store on the lake and had boxes of "flag worms" in storage after the store closed. People were still buying bags of them from his storage locker 10+yrs after he closed shop
