1.8 million years ago a large young male dog died and his remains were found with human remains from that time.

As cool as that'd be idk what to think of it. couldn't the dog have died a couple hundred years after the humans in the same spot? Are they determining the dog was with by soil layers or carbon dating?

He was probably eating the poor bastard and choked on a finger.

Who was eating who? I was thinking it could go either way. Back then, you know everything tasted like chicken.

Those people probably had strong teeth, back before Coca cola and snickers bars. If you needed to though, you could hang a carcass up in a tree for a couple of days and it would get all mushy, so you could slice it up with your flint leatherman all purpose blade. Maybe that's how the fellow ended up dead beside his dinner, a little case of food poisoning.

Even with carbon dating, it can be off several hundred or more years. It is pretty much an educated guess.
