That's what I heard also. 4bedroons 4 baths each. One is a little bigger than the other. My guys are catching all the white trout, reds and flounder they want right under camps(commercial metal buildings)

Ah, "conservatism," or should I say "favoritism, cronyism, or neoptism?"

Is the parish going to rent any of the rooms out hotel style for those not in nobgfc? Congrats on reworking something at port eads, glad to hear y'all will be back down there. I assume this means the plans for cypress cove are off then?

I'm very familiar with the area. I was born in Venice and have lots of family born in Pilottown & even in Burwood (when they were still towns). With that said, yes it is vulnerable but so is anywhere on the gulf coast. So are the tons of million dollar condos in Alabama/Florida on the coast. If a marina was built right it should be able to withstand hurricanes down there. There have been structures that have withstood Katrina and even Camille years ago. Example, the southwest pass pilot station withstood Katrina with no major damages yet it sticks out in the gulf also.
We can go 30-40 years without a major (Cat 3 or better) huricane. So we shouldn't build anything in those areas because it has a risk of being hit?
And yet all the pilots are now home to a concrete raised structure before the jump. Seems they disagree with your logic.

Seems like you don't know what I'm talking about either.
They have another raised structure(southwest pass station) at the end of southwest pass that was built before Katrina. It faired well during Katrina.
Then they had another station in Pilottown that withstood hurricanes for 100+ years. I know because my family lived there and most of them were born there. This station was still standing but had major damage during Katrina because of the surge. My grandfather and 2 of my uncles actually rode out Katrina in this building because water got too high in their houses(yes pretty dumb to ride out a storm down there but he is old and stubborn). They (Bar Pilots) rebuilt this station in Venice after Katrina mainly because it is easier to get supplies and would be cheaper also. The other river pilot organization (Crescent River Pilots) actually rebuilt back in Pilottown.
