The only reason I tried the Vudu is because the batch of 4H's I had the coloring on them would come off easy and they were basically white.
So I was at Cabela's and saw the Vudu and grab those and they were no bueno on a big red I hooked.
I have since found that 4H makes what they call an armored cork which instead of paint it's wrapped with some kind of shrink wrap. My fishing buddy has one that someone gave him with a company logo on and we've been trying to find them since he's been using most of this year. The only place I've found them is on 4H's website.

Great info. Thx

Any weighted cork. I don't like the non-weighted ones for casting.

4H is great except for the paint coming off as was mentioned above. For the price that shouldn’t happen.

I have a purple and gold LSU version 4H which is my go to weighted version non adjustable popping cork. I probably have a 100 of them o different makes types.

I have caught tons of fish with just the clip on H&H with the weight and internal rattle beads.

I have bought some of the H&H, bomber and have a few 4H LSU corks. They last forever if you take care of them.

The armor 4H is the way to go, it’s only $1 more and is significantly more durable. These used to sell the wraps in 10-packs and you could DIY. I emailed them last week and learned they don’t sell the wraps any longer.

$10 for a cork is wild. I don't use a cork enough to say, but the cheap ones work just fine when needed.

Running trips will put some use on them. Which is why I typically look for the quality stuff. I agree that price is a little hard to swallow but If I can keep rigging them and having them in the boat ready to go and I dont have to worry about failures, it is worth it in the long run. I orderd some yesterday and will give them a try next week when I get back on the water. '
Going to go with the 4h when I use artificials and just stick with the DOA for free floating a shrimp. They are easy to see and fairly cheap. I have been using them for a month and had no issues other than operator erros.
Start there and see what happens. Now to try a few different soft body style lures here. I have mostly been using a DOA shrimp and 3" swimbait. May try a few others.
Like always, this thread has been very helpful. Thanks to evreryone.

Call 4H and get on guide program for half price deal. Marker 54 on skrimp imitations, don’t think they have a guide program yet.
I save all of my questionable corks and use them as second chance corks (once you lose a new cork you’re not getting another new one to lose).
Jacked up corks work just as well anyway.

The evolution of speck tackle has always amazed me. The old school weighted styrofoam with slit and plastic rod and a shad rig will still catch em for less than the price of a four horseman. That said I have used the horseman and they are definitely nice corks.

Never been a Cork Queer, most tackle is designed to catch the fisherman anyway. Old school still works like it did 50 yrs ago.

I always use cigar shaped. I like how they move through the water and they go under easier when they're hit.
If you can find them, use the ones with a titanium stem. They keep their shape.

I use 4-Horseman and Versa-Max. I can honestly say I've never lost popping cork. If I tie on one its going on 40lb braid with a 12 or 18 lb flouro leader. I have a 4 Horseman thats been popped so much the lead ball is cup shaped

If you thinking you going to get a lot of them call Aaron Pierce (hes on FB) and make a big order. He'll set you up. If not call Puglias and they will ship the loose unpacked ones to you. Those run $5 each.
Also, I use different shaped corks for different applications. If I want it to glide more across the water I'll use an oval shape, use those when fishing a school of fish under some birds. If you want to go up against the grass use the triangular shaped one. When you pop those, they tend to stay in the same place.
