Riding thru town and a truck pulling pontoon boat rolling down 171S that had a 300hp Merc on the end of each pontoon, wtf. How fast will that bad boy push. No pcs didn't have phone on me. Didn't catch the brand but the pontoons were shinny

There is an old guy in Amite who has the big 7s on the back of his. Two of them.

Idk how many hp that is, but I've been in a cigarette boat doing 65 and he just rolled on through

Saw a poontoon rolling 171N this past Friday with twins and tri-toons

It's the new thing to be able to pass up a bass boat doing 70+ mph in a poontoon.

Yeah, there are quite a few videos of Brad Rowland’s triple Merc pontoon on YouTube. Think 114 mph is the fastest he has recorded.

Kind of goes against the intent of a pontoon boat, no??? I always thought of a pontoon boat as a safe family boat...imagine a 6 year old child walking around on a boat moving 60 MPH LOL...I had a 17 foot procraft bass boat years ago that would do about 40 with 2 people in it and it would damn near throw a grown man out of it when you crossed another boats wake.....there ain't no way to keep the tater chip bags and little Debbie boxes required for a proper day of pontooning lashed down at 60 MPH...hell even a can of Vienna sausages would become a lethal projectile!

See a bunch of tritoons hauling arse down Bayou Magazille heading to Leroys. There is another tritoon down there with an inboard/outboard with headers on it. I was at the camp and heard what sounded like a cigarette boat coming in the distance and when he came around the bend doing about 45+ in that thing my mind exploded. A got damned party barge with full blown headers sounding like a cigarette. The tritoons running 250s on the back coming down the bayou sound like a bass boat running wide open until they come around the bend on plain hauling arse. Crazy stuff when you see it in person.

Me too.
I follow a few pontoon boat forums and the response to someone being criticized about having a fast motor on their pontoon boat is always" but what if I get caught in a storm"
