Just materials? Dufrene’s lumber pretty much supplies everyone down there.

Well I’m looking to build a 16’x24’ camp on the marsh. Could I get away with driving 4”x6”s and dead man them?

No, you won’t go down deep enough, your center of gravity is way up in the air, and one really good lateral wind thunderstorm and your camp will fall over

I’m building it about 2-3’ above the marsh. What depth should I be shooting for?

I smell a nice but very short lived camp in the making.

Not to be an arse, but are you trying to collect flood insurance claim. I believed I’d have to go 8’ minimum above marsh.

I think 3' deep, make them 3' high, put some pontoons on the pilings and build on top of the pontoons.

Call Shelby the swamp man and get that big arse anchor from him.

Or, Have you considered a Jack up camp?

Where you plan on building this?

If its close to water why not build it on a barge or on some barrels?

On a canal off lake Des Allsmends. I had a house boat before and it was a pain. Still and option but really want something permanent.

Who’s the guy with the 4 engine airboat down there? He can haul them to your site and drive them with a vibratory hammer on a power boom.
