which smart OS you prefer

If it's of any help to anyone I'm not very techy, I have whatever OS is on my Sony, whatever OS is on my Samsung, and whatever OS is on my TCL(Roku I guess ) and have been happy with the performance/interface/usability of all. I'd imagine most of us baws can't tell the difference from one to the other.

Looking for a outdoor tv
awesome

sub 2k dollars
go to walmart/sams/Costco and get the cheapest biggest TV you want. electrics outside wont last. What i do with my outdoor tvs (southLA) is leave them on. It keeps the internals warm where condensation will not build up and rust/short out the parts. usually rokus or fires will allow the screen to go black where it wont be burning much energy at all.

So I use alexa for music and fire stick on the tvs in my house.

Is is preferable to purchase a cheap "Amazon based alexa tv" or just any tv and use the fire stick? I find that the fire stick has to be replaced every year or so... sometimes sooner.

IMO any solo device will be better than the cheap hardware inside the TV. so i use a box instead of the "smart tv" . Sticks IMO are severely lacking as well. stick to the more powerful boxes. I like Amazon fire over roku but the King is the Nvidia Shield.

frick sub 2k. I have had a TCL 43 inch on my patio for 3 years now. I live in LC and it went through Laura and Delta and the freeze and still works the same as the day I put it out there. Oh, and I don't ever cover it either.

just make sure the screen has a matte finish, and not a shiny glass finish. background glare is a bitch no matter if its in the shade.

they have the cube at 99. but if you go that route i would get the regular Shield tube version. for 130. i bought one on prime day for 125. looks like the regular price is down on that now.

Bought two several years ago during the online Black Friday sales......I think I paid $400 for normal 60 inch led sonys.

Still going strong. I built an outdoor kitchen area and my builder suggested going cheap, no need to buy an "outdoor tv", just replace the cheap one whenever it goes out.

Move your current living room TV to the patio and buy a new one for inside. When outdoor one dies do the same thing again.

Yep, the smart software embedded in the TV is not supported like the purpose-built devices (stick, box, etc.).

Jumping on the TCL w/ ROKU bandwagon. My $300 outdoor TCL has outlasted several other TVs including a $3k Samsung inside.

My next indoor TV will be TCL.

I just bought a new inside TV and am moving the old one outside, will continue that rotation.

I've had TVs outside under covered patios and have always just bought cheaper regular TVs, actually have never had one die, just gotten bigger ones to replace.
