Who do y’all use for in shore charter trips?
Also do any of the offshore guys down there do trips with shared groups? It will be just my son and I so I want to not pay full price. And I def don’t want to go on one of those crazy tub boats with 40 other people.
I probably will just go with an in shore trip, but was considering the shared offshore option if the shared trip thing could be worked out.

Southern Bend. Captain Hawk. 261-677-7117. They have a website and a FB page if you can check that out.

You can call Zeke's and see if an offshore boat is taking walkups. We got on the Summer Breeze II that way once. Nice boat and good captain.

So you want him to put a full tank of gas in the boat, use his full days time, and charge you less than a full price because you think guiding for two should be a discount as compared to guiding 3 or 4.
Cheap.
Cheap.

Since you can't figure out the question I was asking, maybe go see if your mom and read my post and explain it to you.

Actually, he asked about a shared group trip. Pretty common and will make it much easier to stomach the cost.

If you want inshore, I took my son a couple years ago with Capt Mike Peek. We caught some really solid trout in terrible conditions (had to bail early from T-storms) and he's great with kids.

Thanks y’all very much for the responses. I found a company that does the walk on deal for offshore. One boat only allows a max of 17 and the other 10.
There are some others I’m reaching out to that say they will pair up folks on semi private trips.
Red snapper season starts around the time we will be there so I’m looking forward to getting on the water.

17 people on a boat? How big is that thing for offshore fishing. Sounds like a small party boat. I'd make sure I had a ton of beer and an agreement to share any fish caught. Sounds to me like a bad deal. Maybe I'm just too old.

There are boats down there that bring 40-50 people out. They are 65 feet is what I remember seeing.

We just call him Gumbo. He will get you on fish and make it personal. Great guy and very good angler. This is whom I recommend. Very connected in all aspects of the OBA fishing scene. Tell him Buddy sent you.
