I usually hunt public land in either Louisiana or Mississippi. How different is Oklahoma? I know the landscape is different, but what are the crowds like?

Maybe we can get together and Ill take you over there one day to let you kill one. Probably wont be this year, but we might could work something out as far as trading hunts.

I've never hunted them, but my FIL goes to Texas and said they gobble their arse off.
I hunt public La. birds that hear 20 hoots and crows an hour before daylight every day. Takes some strong pussy to make them gobble.

Brother and nephew doubled up this AM . Nephew killed his right off this morning. They stayed put and a big 4 year old came in silent 30 minutes later. Me... I didn’t see or hear anything.

I didn’t hear a gobble Saturday morning until i was walking out and caught 2 out in a food plot at about 10:30. Set up and called them to within 15 yards. They gobbled a couple times on their way in.

Going on my first turkey hunt next weekend in Mississippi, all I have is duck gear. What are some of the essentials I need to pick up?

Gloves face mask chair thermacell. Ghillie suits are ideal.

Make sure you have an orange hat to stay legal

I’m pretty sure you don’t have to wear orange during turkey season. I may be wrong but I’m 99% sure.

I know birds can see orange so it makes sense that you wouldn’t have to wear orange.

If he hit a tree instead of the turkey, I'm not sure patterning it was going to help.
