Well I made it to the year mark in suppressor jail. This is really sucking right now. I did 2 paper forms. One in March of 2021 and one in May of 2021. My first suppressor in 2016 was 4 months. So this is really starting to irritate me

Went to buy one the other day and had no clue that it took this long. Walked out after finding out that people still weren’t hearing back after a year. It’s a shame.

I'm going to be honest, it seems a bit ridiculous

I just did the paperwork for one two weeks ago. They said it would be 90 days.

Baffles me how I can buy an entire firearm in under 20 minutes yet I have to wait a year for a simple attachment. The law needs to go plain and simple.

They lied

ETA: electronic form 4 should speed things up, but I think it will only be faster if you already have other form 4 stamps (could be wrong on my understanding)

Also, I saw something about doing a form 1 silencer from a solvent trap that the NFA was coming back a rejecting them. No idea if that is accurate

Im about to hit a year. It's ridiculous. The NFA is a joke. If they insist on imposing these bullshite laws regulating attachments, then at least do it in a timely manner.

There was a thread on the poli board the other day that mass rejections started and companies selling either pulled from availability or shutdown all together.

That was for form 1s where people are making their own suppressors. I bought 2 from a dealer on form 4

I started my wait yesterday. Maybe it won’t take a full calendar year.

just picked up my 1st one last week after 13 month wait. Have another on order that purchased in December with eFile so hopefully will go faster.

I think the manufacturers are spreading rumors of quick turnarounds hoping to boost sales. The salesman told me yesterday that “the rep” told him they were seeing 40 day waits with the new system.

The salesman is full of shite because the first documented efile on the internet just came through a few days ago. And it was purchased Dec 29th I think

It’s bullshite they make you do this for every single one you buy.

Wish you could get some type of license that takes a day or two to acquire. Take a class, pass a background check. Then you can buy any suppressor or full auto rifle or whatever. You go to FFL, scan the card and buy what you want. Fill out the registration papers. If you get a felony or anything that nullifies the license it gets revoked and you have to sell or transfer any items you bought under said license within 90 days. No reason it should take so damn long. Sounds like infringement to me

can you go back to the dealer and get your money on the suppressor back after a period of time if you never hear back from the ATF? can you cancel your application with the ATF?
