I was so pissed a few weeks ago when I caught 3-4 on plastic.

Happens every now and then, but this is main reason I avoid live and dead bait. I hate them frickers.

So, has anyone tried eating a hardhead? I've heard people swear that it is second only to gafftops among catfishes.
I'm not really a fan of any cats but hardheads n gaffstops are gross. Tried em bc people said they were good....

But u do have ur people who are desperate n will catch and eat anything

I'm far from desperate, and I will tell you that gaffs are good eating, probably even better than redfish on the grill (redfish is greatly overrated table fare, anyway).

I have never had them on the grill. However, they are about 50/50 on ok and tastes like shite fried. I've always cooked em the day they were caught too. We gave it an honest try... Seriously

For real. I KNOW the specks taste good regardless of how I cook them.

There are far too many tasty and easy to clean fish in this world for me to worry about dealing with those frickers.

I assume this is in regards to redfish being overrated. Sorry, but I really don't care that much for it, especially when they get bigger than about 18 inches.

I can see that. Then again, specks are also slimy as shite.
