That too. Those are the breeder bulls. Once in a blue moon some random hillbilly my dad decides to bring with us wants to keep it. Our max is usually 26-28".

Best fish I've ever had was fried triple tail.... By a mile. shite was unreal

Haven't had any fried triple tail, but trigger fish is amazing fried. Just have to clean what seems like a boot to get to the meat, lol.

Boats, u gotta e gentle with your knife.. Don't go all the way to the hide. Leave ab 1/4" bt blade n skin. I also recommend doing redfish this way... U won't get the red all over the back of the fillet

Had a whole fried mangrove from Le Creole off Highland, talk about good.

I've thought about doing the same thing with the mangroves we catch in the marina in Fourchon. The constant patrol of the wildlife agents in there keeps that from becoming any more than a thought, lol.

I usually do reds and catfish with a regular filet knife instead of electric, I never have many to clean. I never tried fileting catfish again after the first time I tried with the electric knife, I may have to give it another go.

I haven't read this entire thread but I have a few things, first off I hate fricking hard heads.

Second, I've heard if you lick one you will trip balls.

Third, last summer in Orange beach a couple highschool kids from lafayette were acting retarded on the beach. One of them picked up a dead hard head and threw it at his friend. Barb stuck right in his chest. Beach patrol had to be called

If what you consider cheek meat what we call the throats then it's great from all the snapper, cobia, amberjack and grouper.

Similar. That's why I said "head meat" at first, because it is all good. There is usually a chunk that gets missed at the top of the head. The throats are also fantastic. I think my favorite is the cheeks, though. I would almost have to show you how to clean it, because it's not obvious that it is there. Seems like that spot should be bone, but it is some sweet meat.

I think I know what you're talking about, I stumbled across it whenever we cooked a couple of whole mangroves on the pit.

Everyone kept asking me why I was trying so hard for the meat only to realize after they tasted it that they were missing out!

I don't even do that. I'm not master fileteteteder (sp?), but I get the job done.
