Can someone recommend a trigger for my Sig Tread M400. It was my first time shooting it and the trigger is awful.

Also how hard is it to install myself?

Get a LaRue MBT trigger.

1) remove grip
2) remove safety
3) remove trigger pins
4) remove trigger
5) install new trigger
6) reinstall trigger pins
7) reinstall safety
8) reinstall grip

I prefer AR Gold
LINK /
i can't recommend a trigger without a price budget. Here is what I run

I have a couple of ARs with a Rise Armament RA-535
RA-535

I have several of the Geissele
SSA-E
LINK

And of course given my screen name the Super 3 Gun Trigger. Which one of them is in my bump in the night gun.

is a Daniel Defense barrel better than an Aero Precision barrel? absolutely.

Can you explain? How much better would it be? Building a 300 using Aero

I’ve shot a few different branded ARs. I actually had a AP M4E1 and a DDM4v7.

The DD was a tack driver compared to the AP. Not sure if it was the chrome lining, the hammer forging process, or even special fairy dust, but it made me a believer in “Gucci” brands being superior.

Plus, the military uses a DD barrel in all of the Colt rifles that have the URGI upper receiver. Not sure if that really matters or not.

I fricked around and bought a half dozen lowers for black friday I'm trying to talk my dad into doing a build, or financing his. He's 76, so I'm looking to go softer than a 5.56. I've been looking at 22 wmr, or even 9mm since he has a 365xl. Didn't know if y'all had any thoughts on ARs for older folks. I'm even open to pistol length suggestions. Really I just want him to come out to the farm and shoot a couple times a year and not get beat up. Not a frail 76, but still 76.

9mm ARs are fun as shite.

Look at foxtrot Mike stuff, not end of the world zombie shite, but really fun.

I have a couple of 9mm AR, one 16” and one 6 or 8”

The 9mm have pretty much the same recoil as a 5.56.

Never seen a 22wmr in an AR. Doesn’t mean there isn’t one, I just don’t know if it exist.

IMO the AR9 will have more recoil than a 5.56/.223 rifle. You could go with a S&W .22 AR rifle. However some of the parts are not interchangeable with 5.56.223 AR

22Mag upper

I agree with a 9mm feeling like a 556. Yall can get a 22lr conversion and he can try both. You can do some things to take some recoil on the 556 as well.

Kicking myself for not grabbing the BCM blem upper two weeks ago, that, buffer assembly, and handle/stock are the only things before I almost fully build the gun.

Got the trust, just need to notarize, and then I can get the SBR tax stamp and start silencer shopping. Huxwrx .556 ti or .556k is what I'm looking at.

My biggest issue with the 22lr was seeing bufferless recoil, ie an entirely different system of cycling than an AR. It's why i bumped up slightly to the 22 wmr. The 22lr conversion isn't super expensive to give it a whirl. Even if dad doesn't like it, I'll gladly have fun with it at the farm.

I definitely appreciate the feedback on the 9mm for all of y'all who commented. Being old i can also see him mixing up a glock mag that many ar9 setups use for one of his sig magazines. He was a revolver man until pounds of pull/arthritis became an issue.

Mine came in Monday, maybe some uneven finish but otherwise perfect. Used a heat gun to help insert a barrel and it was still tight. I want to buy more. My uppers came unassembled with parts.

What size vise is everyone using?

And another dumb question, but I bought a son's of liberty blaster kit, and have a full larue 2 stage trigger. What other "parts" do I need to get that do not come with the standard overall items (bcg, barrel, upper, barrel, handguard, stripped lower, and A5 style tube/spring/weight).

I'm just using (when I need one) my regular vise that has 4" jaws (I think that's right).

Also have a barrel vise that I use every now and then.

i just now realized that the Gordy Carbine and the Blood Diamond rifle are 2 separate guns.

people have been cheating with the suppressor on Gordy builds using teh OCM5 and AEM5 with 12.5" barrels. "clone correct" is a 14.5" barrel with the AEM-M4 and the "Gordy Collar".

Charlie Custom Clones makes an upper for $2500

https://charliescustomclones.com/gordon-delta-carbine-a2-upper-receiver-group-and-m4-suppressor-matched-set-14-5-clone-correct/

Type-A makes a clone with the 12.5" barrel and the OCM5... for $2500

https://bgdefense.com/product/gordon-carbine-sbr/

eta: both are using the wrong upper. they're using an A2 while Gary Gordon used a C7.

What length barrel are you building with. When I built, I wanted a 7-9". Not a ton of options with everything I wanted (material, twist, etc). Ended up with a Roscoe barrel.
