ell me about Binary triggers...
Would they be better for stalking hogs at night with a thermal?
They really wouldn't. A tripod would probably be your best bet.
Seapickle and Reds will be able to answer better than I though.

I don’t see any advantage of a binary trigger. As bbvdd said, tripod is worth its weight in gold for thermal hunting.

I have the death grip tripod. I’ll try it out this weekend. Hogs are currently destroying my summer plots since 6pm tonight.
Sure could use some SEAPICKLE lol.
Should I line up the first shot and try to get two rounds into them quick or just target one at a time leading them on the run?

when you're done, you're going to want that SOCOM M4A1 Block II look.

B5 Systems SOPMOD Stock
Surefire 4 prong flash hider
Knights Armament rear back up sight
or
Matech rear backup sight
Milspec Ambi Safety (CMMC makes one)
Eotech Holographic Sight with magnifier or Trijicon ACOG Sight
You might even want to put a 14.5" or 14.7" hammer forged/chrome lined barrel on it and pin and weld the flash hider (for legal reasons). Then you'll feel just like a special forces military baw.

Then, once you're done with the gun, you're going to want to dive into night vision... probably.
PEQ-15s (lasers/infrared lights)
PVS-14 nods
headgear for nods
FYI, if you're wanting an mlok rail, the DD RIS III installs the exact same way as the RIS II.
I should advise you to go into one of you're local gun stores that sells Daniel Defense rifles and see if they have one of the new rifles with the RIS III on it. It'll be the M4A1 models. If you handle it, you'll see/feel how well made it is and why the US military uses them (the rail system. not the rifle)

you could look into a Geissele rail as well. it's what they used before going to the Sig Sauer Spear line.
Geissele Mk16 13.5" DDC

Just can't do the Block II setup with a SOCOM profile barrel and FSP and DD ris II. That bitch weights like 12 lbs.
A proper URGI setup is just awesome.

How many of you painted your rifles? Its not something I've ever though of doing, but I've seen some really cool camouflage patterns that people have rattle canned on their ARs.

i'd probably paint a PSA rifle since they're cheap.
i would not paint my DDM4v7.
Lucas Botkin (TRex Arms) will paint a $3000 Sig because he's insane.

Earhole the first then mag dump the rest.

Rather Cerakote or Duracoat the rifle of its nice. Can't bring myself to spray paint anything over about $800 unless it's apocalypse time.

I painted an 80% lower build with spraycans, I'm stripping it now. I changed my mind about the pattern.

I sprayed mine a while ago. It looks like crap now, but it doesnt see a case and is often just laid out or piled on.
If you want a nice finish, letting someone cerakote it would be my recommendation.

Anyone know if spraying your optic voids a Warranty? Just got my Vortex prism and piggy back micro red dot in. Lots of white logos. Thinking of going with an FDE paint job to match the stock grip and handgaurd and mute the slightly gaudy wording.

That's what I was looking at. Old school BDU camo. Which stencil did you use?

That's a lot cheaper than the Freedom Stencils I was looking at.
Your rifles look awesome by the way.
ETA: I just noticed the dick camo pattern. Nice.

Thanks.
With the woodland camo patter choose your base coat to what you want the overall look to be. For example Brown was mine for the 300 and Green for the 223. You can see the difference in the guns. Also I hit mine with a fine steel wool the day after I paint. It smooths out any rough spots and takes the tacky feeling off.
