Leaving an optic on all the time is a relatively new concept for us old guys, and it's handy but hardly mandatory. If there's a bump in night I pick up the weapon, hit a button on the Eotech and ensure it's chambered even though I know it is.
Dude really thinks an HWS should have comparable battery life to a simple red dot and that roughly 3.5 months without needing to change batteries is "terrible."

All things being equal having to never change batteries would be fine, but it’s a trivial thing to do once a year whether they need it or not. I’m not in a FOB. If I lived somewhere that leaving a red dot always on was a hard requirement I’d be rethinking some life decisions. I’ve had Aimpoints and clones, I just prefer the Eotech.

I am looking to reload 556 for my ARs. I am a total noob. I have the RCBS RC2 and would like to get the correct die set. I assume it would be labeled 223? Any recommendations/advice would be welcome.

Sat down today to put everything together. Have a 1/3 cowitness shim coming for the holosun to really be finished then off to the range to do some gas block tuning. I’m kinda torn on how to set the gas block up as I always say I’ll never shoot unsupressed but I hate to set up a gun so that it won’t work if I do something as trivial as take the can off. Idk will see.
Super happy with the slr handrail and how the 11.3” barrel length with the trash panda pairs. Should be even shorter when the 36m gets outta jail.

Does anyone know what these are for? It's driving me nuts. They were in my parts bin that is 98% ar parts.

Those at the tips for anti walk pins.

Thank you ! I really appreciate that, obviously I didn't use them when I installed my triggers haha.

Being left handed is making my next build cost at least $120 more than it would otherwise.

Honestly for ARs the only thing I find building a left hand at impairs you is the small group of manufacturers that make a left handed bcg. I just figure drag is good enough and move on.
Everything else being ambi is really how right handed ARs should be built too

That's not a reason, I just want a quality ambi selector and ambi charging handle. Never had an issue with brass hitting me in the face.

installed the LaRue trigger i bought in my new DDM4v7. i haven't shot it, yet, but i have dry fired it. holy cow at that trigger. really love the "wall" and the break point of it. perfect for a scope or LPVO for distance. moved the original DD trigger to my Aero build which will have a red dot/magnifier combo. it'll be good enough for that build.

Never have an issue with brass in the face issue either. However shooting suppressed there is a major difference in gas to the face.

If balling on a budget pst gen2 still best bang for buck on a 1-6?

Was able to snag one of these from Optics Planet (I know, tempting fate here) before they went on backorder.
Exact same scope, only fde and no mount for $260 is a screamer of a deal.
Everyone in the sub $500 Lpvo market is bracing for the impact of the new PA Gen 4 Nova Recticle 1-6 for $330.
Suppsedly a game changer in terms of brightness and glass clarity for that price range.

I think for $100 more this is a better deal.

I got mine from PSA for just over $300 during they’re St. Patrick’s Day Sale. $350 shipped I believe for the 1-8 and mount. Haven’t used it, yet, but it sure does look nice mounted.
