Anyone used a UTE 2 upper?
Don’t bash me yet, but my thought is build one up with a kino barrel, centurion mid length cutout rail, and use an overbore systems Aimpoint mount to also use the irons.

Damn, I've always wanted something EXACTLY like that.

$250 is still pretty steep for an upper, but it is unique.
Man, I remember when Rock River was viewed as some absolute top tier and trendy stuff back in the day. They had a ton of LEO/Mil contracts as well I think.
Their rollmark is still pretty legit though:
Btw, anyone want a Pony Lower for $35? LINK

No, I'd just get an A3 upper and put a fixed rear site on it. But that's me.

My first first paint job using a stencil. I should have used steel wool on the receivers and handguard to make the base coat stick.

Nice, now you can do my truck gun.

Looks like an Aero M5, right?
If so, Aero-made receivers are very difficult to get paint to stick to from what I've seen. Even after using brake cleaner and light sanding, coatings still don't like to stick to their finish....which seems to have a very smooth, deep, almost clear-coated feel to them.
Aero products are very nicely machined and finished, but they just don't like to be painted over without basically sandblasting the reciver.

Sub-sonic, point-blank knockdown power. That's about it.
Anything past about 50 yds, though, and it drops like a rock.
Unless you've just got money to burn, you're clearing rooms for a living, or you want to do a lot of close range night hog hunts, most folks would be better suited with a 556/223 w/a suppressor.

Agreed
The novelty of the shooting quiet wears off after a couple expensive mags.
If I didn’t shoot deer in my neighborhood with one I wouldn’t have it. Definitely a specialty application

Wont convince you know, but when things get going good and you can find cheap 223 once fired brass and cheap 30 cal bullets again itd be a fun project. Need to reload though and just pick up cheap components.
