I don’t know how widespread a problem it was. That’s just one of the hazards of researching anything on the internet; people are a lot more likely to gripe when there’s a problem than they are to say something when everything works as advertised. If I put too much emphasis on bad reviews I’d never buy anything over $300.

Hi, considering a build, haven't done it before.

I'm seeing that if you order multiple stripped lowers, it's up to the FFL what to charge for the transfer... some apparently charge just once.

Who's good in/around the BR area for that? I'd consider getting maybe 3 lowers, would rather not pay a ton extra for each one.

I see people say that but I’ve never spoken to an ffl who does. I’ve called around the New Orleans area.

You're likely going to pay per serial number.

Joining a range may be worth looking into. Free transfers are part of your membership at some. If you get fairly regular transfers and enjoy shooting out of the weather, it can be a very cost-effective option.

I do that already, they charge me $20 and non-members $35. I enjoy getting a transfer there, because even when I get delayed, I can shoot the gun and leave it up there until it's cleared.

I've never had anyone charge more than one fee.

thinking about doing an AR build (not a .223 tho.) Would love to see everyone else's builds and any recommendations on cheap uppers and lowers are appreciated.

I love PSA’s 6.5 Grendel upper. I got the complete upper with a free floating rail, 20” barrel for $420. They sell lowers for pretty cheap as well and the quality is fantastic.

Of all my guns I’ve made, my psa ar10 is my favorite. Followed by my sulzer upper/lower 65grendel.

It is a very fun gun to shoot. Have a silencer in jail for it and a few other pistols. Can’t wait to get it.

Had it at the range the other day and I’m still running ammo through it pretty hard making sure it won’t have any failures. I did a quick mag dump and had range officers come over to make sure it wasn’t full auto.

I have a couple of 80 percent arms jigs.

1st was a standard for an AR the new one was for the AR9

They work with a trim router and do a great job.
